https://blog.playstation.com/2024/06...-holiday-2024/

Quote:
During today’s Summer Game Fest showcase, we announced the brand-new action adventure game, LEGO Horizon Adventures, to be launched during the 2024 Holiday season on PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Co-developed by Guerrilla and Studio Gobo, LEGO Horizon Adventures is a playful and light-hearted story inspired by the events of the world of Horizon.

I just hope this leads to more actual Horizon Lego sets….so weird to see a Sony first party IP on a Nintendo platform….

It doesn't look like a typical lego game. It looks more like Minecraft Dungeons.

That Thunderjaw would be cool as a Lego set. Fingers crossed

I love Horizon and like the Lego games so this will be a sure purchase for me if the eventual reviews are not abysmal.

Now this and AstroBot are my two gaming highlights of this year so far. Cool to see Sony also trying out other genres besides their normal franchises.

I'm interested as well, I like Horizon and the Lego games always have couch co-op and my wife has already mentioned this game to me

How come Lego Aloy has more personality than the actual Aloy?

Seeing this Lego game makes me just want to play Horizon 2 instead.

I cannot get into the Lego games despite trying with 5+ different games. I think it's the parts that you're just trying to enjoy fun gameplay, but then are presented with an obscure blockade, and you have to figure out which tool with what character to use at which specific point at what particular time. Some of Traveler Tales' puzzles are very poorly designed and complicated because of not indicating what the specific puzzle element is. I think they do that on purpose, but it makes the games more frustrating than needed IMO.

I'm in the minority, because these Lego games sell really well.

I have the
PS3 Lego Star Wars saga game
Avengers Lego
Lego Undercover City
Lego demo games
Lego Worlds (the best one as it doesn't force puzzles)

I wouldn't give that company one red cent of my money! If you looked up the term "Money Gouging" the Lego logo would be right next to it. The prices they charge for their shit are way beyond unreasonable.

Will be interesting to see how this game separates itself from the Horizon games. Probably mostly puzzle based linear gameplay.

I think it's almost $900 for a Millennium Falcon large scale ship at retail price.
Lego recently said in 2024 that they're going to use more environmentally friendly oil and fuels to create Lego blocks, further increasing costs.

I liked Lego for a short time as a small kid, but remember never really getting into the Lego items growing up.

I have two boys and I'm so glad neither of them got heavily into Legos. My oldest was into Ninjago for a short time, but besides that they've had very little interest.

I just think Lego's pricing is borderline predatory. It would help if they had some competition, which they don't. I guess they've patterned their designs in such a way that any competing design of blocks interlocking is considered a patent infringement. That company can F- off as far as I'm concerned.

I hear what you're saying. I couldn't believe the prices over the years. Lego says it's because the more expensive items have more pieces...

Just wanted to say that I finished this game up yesterday (one trophy short of platinum, but that last one is grindy lmao). I'll start off with saying that Eurogamer must have been smoking crack to rate this game a 2/5. I've played lots of Lego games over the years, in no small part due to their consistent support of couch co-op, which has been slowly fading into obscurity. That being said Lego games almost never excite me all that much and sometimes I find them kind of boring (I'm an adult, so obviously not completely marketed towards me).

On the positive side, the voice acting is superb, with voice actors from the mainline Horizon series returning (minus Lance Reddick, obviously). The game is visually appealing in the way that literally everything is made of Lego, in contrast to older Lego games where large parts of the environment are presented in a more traditional style. The story is very serviceable, acting as a truncated version of Zero Dawn, but to that end you won't get much new. The signature Lego game humor is here and actually got a few laughs out of me. Combat is actually pretty engaging! I had a lot of fun fighting enemies in this game, something I can pretty much not gush over for any other Lego games.

The only thing I might complain about is the price. The game is $60.00 at full retail. Aside from the one trophy and a couple optional side activities, I've pretty much gotten full completion at 15 hours. If your a Horizon fan, go for it. Otherwise, maybe wait for a sale, BUT... really solid game overall.

Technically, game seems really solid, but I did have one crash while I had the game paused.

So you can confirm that LEGO Horizon Adventures does not cover Forbidden West at all?

Very strange that they skipped it.

Guess they are saving it for a sequel.
