Anyone had a chance for some hand-on for this title? I saw some vids of it on gamespy and it looks deep and graphically quite phenomenal. Looking forward to it.
On another note and words of a Twisted Metal game coming to PS3? I loved that series. Loads of fun, I can only imagine what that would be like on the PS3. |

I've played every NFS game yet, and was very dissapointed with Pro Street.
The lack of freedom and cost of modding your car on this one just ruined it for me. Seem's they are trying to be more like GT, which is taking away the fun of NFS. |

I actually really like this game, everyone else was expecting underground. This is nothing like underground. But I liked how I could choose which races i needed to race, and when. i wasnt forced into anything except showdowns including kings.
The only problem is during a race the framerate will drop out, and patch 1.1 was supposed to fix it... it just made it worse. |

i bought it. its ok. there are some pretty big bugs that can get very very annoying. like, on a top speed race, for no reason other than a mystery bump in the road, the car will drop from 200 to 100 mph instantly. this only happens at very high speed. but the speed races them selves are very fun and get the juices flowing.
i like the game, but i would love to see a NFS hot pursuit. the ps2 version was fun as hell. lots of exotics, crazy driving, and running from the man. |

its not as good as most wanted or carbon. a bit of a let down. tracks all look the same, you need to buy a load of cars, you allways need to fix your car, no free roaming. get burnout, a much better choice and its what people are playing at the momment

Pros: - Good Graphics - Customizing cars is fun - Drag feels pretty realistic - Realistic Damage system Cons: -Races are incredibly boring. All the race tracks (remember this is race track driving not city) look/feel the same. All the grip/time attack races feel EXACTLY the same. Also, its insanely easy to slaughter the computer in these levels -Drag racing is insanely hard. Also since its straight down a race track it feesl pretty boring. -The announcer is insanely annoying. He talks about Ryan Cooper (your character) like hes the new Jesus. He wont shut up about how amazing he is, and its kinda creepy. -Damage system gets annoying. Its expensive and you can easily waste a large part of your winnings on repairs. -Finally, a HUGE turn off for me was all the add-on car packs being sold on the PS store. A lot of the downloadable content is just paying to unlock stuff you can get just by playing the game. But the "additional" cars that arent in the original game just feel like EA intentionally witheld cars in order to make more money (the fact that this add on was released days after the game launched is a clear indication of this) It all just feels dirty and wrong to me, and the last thing I want to do is to encourage these practices. Overall I give this game a 5/10, and ive been a big NFS fan for years. VERY happy I traded it in for Burnout Paradise. Its way way way more fun. Last edited by Luis_A51; 01-30-2008 at 04:20 PM. |

drag racing is easy when you get a good car and put lots of power in it. i have a gto that does 7.5 - 8 second 1/4. you can turn off the announcer. he drove me nuts too, but i just turned off voice and he went away. you sound like a really really sloppy driver. i never ran out of repair markers or money. once you get to the 2nd tier of races, the money comes flowing in. but it does get repetative and kinda boring. i also really wish i could make X gas and shift with L1/R1 like every other racing game ive ever played. |

Drag racing was fine for the first couple of places. After that it felt like I was wasting money trying to make my car faster. I just couldnt get the hang of it. Granted I only played the game for about 2hrs, but by then I quickly realised it wasnt worth my time. And I very rarely give up on a game. Like I said ive played and beatin all the NFS games since underground. My gf loves them too, and she gave up on this game in about 20min. Last edited by Luis_A51; 01-30-2008 at 08:41 PM. |
