USA Comic Book Men on AMC

So did anyone catch this shows premiere after The Walking Dead? I think this will be a pretty interesting show, I like Kevin Smith's interpretation of the history channels Pawn Stars and the pod cast is pretty funny. It's interesting to see how much comics, toys.posters and other collectibles can go for. I hope AMC keeps this on after The Walking Dead, I helps to laugh a little after being scared. So do you think this show is going to last or not.

I thought the same thing when watching it. The podcast thing was alright but I kinda wish they'd edit it together a little different. I think I'd rather see the bit at the shop with the customer and then them basically laughing at the customer instead of going back and forth between the two. If that makes sense.

That lady with the Chucky doll was a bit.. odd.

Yes the editing was a little off putting for me too. I liked the flea market scenes the most.

I liked the show. I really wish they would actually cover more of the comic releases on the show, but there may be some issues with getting permission with doing that. The whole pawn stars thing is okay but not sure it can carry the show over time. The flea market stuff was great, but obviously that was probably a one off. I will watch again.

I would be nice for them to cover new comics but if it turns out to be a hit show we mite just see that in later seasons. I'm hoping that we can get some guest appearance's from the actors in clerks and so forth.

I wonder how this show is for business at the actual comic shop... I mean, if you were a customer there, and you see how they make fun of customers after they leave the store... would it make you want to shop there?

I know stores do this... but usually I don't get to see it on TV!

HAHA... man this was my thought as well. I can see this show becoming a hit though for a cpl of reasons. It airs so close to The Walking Dead and there are so many nerds in this world...lol

Not my cup of tea... I watched it and won't watch it again... but I understand there will be those who get into it.

I hated the flea market segment(s).

I was surprised how "generic" it seemed. Just like every other pawn show on TV....right down to the weekly "task" (the flea market). There'll be one next week, I'm sure; it certainly appears that's the formula they're going to go with.

I won't be watching again either.

For some reason, this seemed to fly under the radar but I have some vague memory of hearing about its development way back when. I recorded the episode and I'll give it a shot. Its a best case scenario, I hate it and I don't have another show to watch.

I'll probably watch... because it comes on after Walking Dead... but otherwise I wouldn't give it another look.

I was kind of hoping it might be something better than it turned out to be... though I honestly can't say what I thought it should have been.

I like the premise but these guys seem kinda douchey, making fun of the customers for being weird when they're a far cry from normal themselves. But then again most (not all) comic store owners aren't too nice in real life. The scripted dialogue was typical things that people think nerds say. Meh

It's a one off -- six part series, so I'll watch regardless if I really love it or not.

I liked it. It wasn't great, but it was fun to watch. I like Kevin Smith, so I'll keep tuning in.

I'm with you there Walt, Big Kevin Smith fan myself. I'll agree with most that the show isn't great but its a great way to kill some time before the walking dead repeat.

The show is certainly forced and staged, but its fun enough. I'm enough of a nerd that I enjoy it.

Anyone that has ever visited a comic book shop should at least check it out. I was more entertained by the group discussion with Kevin Smith than I expected, he still is a very funny man on certain subjects.
