Both films are getting separate releases on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K.

Should be a good release for the sequel. Hopefully the first one comes out in the US in it's original form...

If the Australian original cut is on there in 4K then it’s a preorder.

I saw this at the cinema on release, which meant it was the American meddled with version plus the BBFC cut to remove the cocaine scene. I like the film and Hogan enough to want to see what Australian audiences saw back in the day, but anything else, no.

It's being labeled as 'The Encore Cut', which is indeed the edited version

...It’s also a recut version of the movie, now known as the ‘Encore Cut’ of the film. However, rather than just opening up the movie with a warning about material that doesn’t look too good through a modern lens, it’s being reported that two and a half minutes has been snipped out of the film...

There's still no reason to make it f*cking political. Not wanting modifications and wanting the original cut I get it. I'm not arguing against that. This change, however, wasn't so much ''censoring'' as it was a personal decision between everyone involved in creating the film, the studios and Hogan himself. Not excusing the change, but saying it wasn't ''forced'', they wanted it themselves. All of this merely to shove off the 'woke' nonsense.

Still not arguing against the uncut thing being released. I'm sure at some point someone will, it's not lost forever. But I'm just annoyed about the bullshit excuse used everywhere.

Because if entertainers don't retract stuff they did years ago that was ok then and yet now deemed heinous by a small yet influential group of people, there are no repercussions whatsoever.

This release needs two versions. The original Aussie cut front and centre and the American cut, which is what most people saw at the time.

Funny you should mention that about the Farrelly brothers. I was having a conversation the other day about some of their movies, and I said "The Farrelly brothers wouldn't have stood a chance at making their movies today with how sensitive society has became."
