Crocodile Dundee 4K Blu-ray Encore Cut CE

Crocodile Dundee 4K Blu-ray Encore Cut

Crocodile Dundee II 4K Blu-ray

Quote:
The legendary Mick “Crocodile” Dundee returns to the big screen in Australian cinemas in 2025. CROCODILE DUNDEE: THE ENCORE CUT, features a meticulous restoration and an Atmos soundtrack, and will be shown for the first time ever in stunning 4K, in an exhilarating visual experience of the Australian outback and our Aussie hero, Mick Dundee. Audiences old and new will thrill at every adventure, share a heartfelt laugh, and enjoy the infectious charm of Mick Dundee, in the encore of Australia’s most iconic film ever.

Disc 2 contains "Love Of An Icon - the Legend Of Crocodile Dundee", plus extras TBC

Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround: English / 2.0: English

Release date : 9 July 2025
Both films are getting separate releases on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K.

Should be a good release for the sequel. Hopefully the first one comes out in the US in it's original form...

Source is Madman Entertainment's B2B site. More info to come.
Shame it'll be edited for political correctness.

Well not buying a censored cut because some idiots can't accept the past was rather different.

If it’s censored then I won’t buy it.

If the Australian original cut is on there in 4K then it’s a preorder.

I saw this at the cinema on release, which meant it was the American meddled with version plus the BBFC cut to remove the cocaine scene. I like the film and Hogan enough to want to see what Australian audiences saw back in the day, but anything else, no.

The ball’s in their court.

They can keep their censored cut. Love the film, but 4K or not, I'm not buying a snowflake cut of the film.

Has there been any single confirmation at all that the 4K is releasing censored? No? Then what are you all blabbering about? Holy f*ck, talk about snowflakes while being total snowflakes yourselves.

Calm yourself down child....

It's being labeled as 'The Encore Cut', which is indeed the edited version

Quote:
...It’s also a recut version of the movie, now known as the ‘Encore Cut’ of the film. However, rather than just opening up the movie with a warning about material that doesn’t look too good through a modern lens, it’s being reported that two and a half minutes has been snipped out of the film...

Haha wow. Maybe do some research before you confirm the definition of a snowflake for us all.

This is a snowflake edition. Simple as that. Put that shrimp on the barbie.

Also, it should be noted that the original cut is still out there too, and isn’t being deleted. It’d be interesting if we could see the actual original Australian cut too, before it was chopped for a US audience.
There's still no reason to make it f*cking political. Not wanting modifications and wanting the original cut I get it. I'm not arguing against that. This change, however, wasn't so much ''censoring'' as it was a personal decision between everyone involved in creating the film, the studios and Hogan himself. Not excusing the change, but saying it wasn't ''forced'', they wanted it themselves. All of this merely to shove off the 'woke' nonsense.

Still not arguing against the uncut thing being released. I'm sure at some point someone will, it's not lost forever. But I'm just annoyed about the bullshit excuse used everywhere.

The only bullsh!t I see is 40 year old movies being censored. There is no excuse for that. Pure modern nonsense as usual.

If you want to support/excuse harmless, fun 80s movies being censored, then that is your right. I won't be.

I did say I wasn't excusing anything and that I am not entirely against the original cut being released, I was only saying this is not for political woke reasons. I am tired of that bullshit excuse, the same as you are tired of things being censored. We're not entirely on the wrong path.

Along with a 4K remaster, the film received a number of edits including the inclusion of a text land acknowledgement at the top of the film… and the removal of scenes that could be considered transphobic and homophobic.

That was an assumption on the writer of the article. In the very same article you have quotes on Hogan himself saying he thinks that's not something the character would do

Because if entertainers don't retract stuff they did years ago that was ok then and yet now deemed heinous by a small yet influential group of people, there are no repercussions whatsoever.

Two more quotes:

Quote:
Rimfire Films stated that the edits to the film were made at the request of Paramount Pictures...

[The film's director Peter Faiman said] that while re-edits to films are not unprecedented, "I think that screwing around with history, in the arts particularly, is not a good idea."
This release needs two versions. The original Aussie cut front and centre and the American cut, which is what most people saw at the time.

A censored cut with a title card about Aboriginal land rights is ****ing ridiculous. It's almost a parody of wokeness.

It's going to date horribly too, I suspect.

I dunno why they can't have the "outdated attitudes" warning on the disc and leave as is.

Ugh. I'd have taken a look if it was in its original form, not if its being chopped for the "modern audience".

Who do they really think is going to be offended by it at this stage? A film that's been out 40 years is all of a sudden going to be vilified for existing and being a product of a different time?

Better keep those Farrelly brothers DVDs close before the thought police come round to take them off you.

Funny you should mention that about the Farrelly brothers. I was having a conversation the other day about some of their movies, and I said "The Farrelly brothers wouldn't have stood a chance at making their movies today with how sensitive society has became."

All the serious, actual damaging things going on in the world and people think censoring a classic like Croc Dundee is needed. Madness.

Along with a 4K remaster, the film received a number of edits including the inclusion of a text land acknowledgement at the top of the film… and the removal of scenes that could be considered transphobic and homophobic.
Is the censorship supposed to be a selling point? That's what they're making it sound like.

"...and, for the first time evah!, we present the film with pieces chopped off so that the 14 year-olds who watch the film won't be offended by how people lived 40 years ago! How 'bout that!"

No, thanks. I'll wait for the US release even if the dialogue is Americanized. I'd rather have that than censorship.
