Does anybody know why there's no blu-ray of this yet?

I’ve been waiting for this for years.

Just a guess, but there may be no Blu-ray for this yet because of music clearance issues... this film features a ton of performances from some of rock and roll’s most iconic acts. Also, it’s a Fox film, AKA Disney, so regardless, the chances of seeing it on Blu anytime soon are practically zero now.

Never seen this, yet I've looked it up and looks rather interesting. Don't mind watching it on DVD, which I guess there is.

The actress from this movie died at the age of 34. That's rather depressing and sad.

Music clearance makes sense. That's a bummer. I bet it would look great on blu.

Holy hell, I just about had a heart attack. I NEVER thought this would actually happen because A) all the live performances from legendary rock & roll musicians at their peak could complicate music licensing for Blu-ray and B) even if there are no music rights issues, isn’t this a Fox film, AKA Disney? Since when did Disney start licensing?

However it happened, I’m absolutely thrilled. This film is a Technicolor dream so a new restoration could look spectacular.

EDIT: Haha, I just noticed that I posted these exact same sentiments back in November 2020 in this thread
