Powerful movie here. There is a
[Show spoiler]death
that hit me like a ton of bricks. Morrison is one scary dude in this one. Will keep an eye out for the release. Thanks for posting.

Great news, hope it looks a little better than the (not bad) Australian release.

Has anyone ever watched the sequel?

Great news. Fantastic film with stunning performances from Rena Owen & Temuera Morrison.

I thought there were a Laserdisc with even more extras?

EDIT: Just a Commentary from the Director. (Click the Laserdisc release image to venture to the listing on LDD.com)

EDIT: Appears the AU release has even MORE features and is Region Free. But it's 1080/50i and a BD25.

OWW is an extremely powerful film, with amazing acting. I saw this on DVD years ago. However, I'm not sure I ever want to see it again - it's quite brutal, with some horrific scenes.

Saw it at the cinema back in 94' -- incredible film, and still resonates over 20 years later. Luv my Icon (region-free) BD

Default Too bad Criterion didn't pick this on up.

Loved the Criterion Laserdisc back in the day and was hoping that they would pick this (and The Crying Game) up for its Blu-ray debut in the US.
It seems the company that did release it did a fine job.

I've posted this in the Australian release thread, but thought it would be noteable to post here too.

Comparison between the AUS and US release:

sorry to bump a very old thread, but I recently found out about this movie. I heard a lot of very positive reviews about it so I decided to blind buy it knowing not much about it. I'm very surprised there has been such relatively little talk about it in this forum.

Can't wait to watch this!
