This is one movie I never expected to get any kind of release at all so I'm extremely positively surprised. Definitely one of my grails off the list.

Eff it. I wasn't goind to get this, but I ordered it anyway, along with Raiders and the Dead One.

Blind buys for all three, but I'm guessing they are quite easy to sell off if I don't like them.

For me it was "The Sect". Since I like the other 2 Michele Soavi films. I just could not stand the thought of passing on a film that may end-up being just as good or better. When it comes to these releases they are rarely surpassed or equal, if released again in the future.

I'm so happy this is getting a HD release.

I put a stop to my spending recently and have ignored the Black Friday sales but I was always going to make an exception for this.

I hope this finds a wider audience now because I think it's pretty great.

Opted out of this. This was one of my most wanted releases. It was also the sole thing I really wanted at the BF sale and the reason I was going to fill up the usual box to reach the cheap flat rate shipping tier. But I was quite disappointed to see that Severin skipped English subtitles for the Italian track (even though they have included English subs for every other Italian release this time around). To me that doesn't fly in 2023! It is such a 2013 thing.

If it was cheaper, I would probably have been more forgiving. But at $45, that's just cheap and lazy. I am either going to wait for a sale on it, or wait and see if some European label won't release it eventually and do it right.

According to Mondo Digital "this was shot in English with many of the principals providing their own voices," so it doesn't seem like a deal breaker. While I can somewhat understand your disappointment, it doesn't seem worth passing up the film.

Personally for this one and Dellamorte, I would never bother with the Italian tracks, so that probably explains my lack of empathy. If there wasn't already a sub track out there, it might have cost Severin quite a bit to translate and sub. It's also possible, being shot in English, that the subs to the English track are pretty accurate for the Italian.....

I would like to have the subtitle but the english track is good and it is the one I will be using anyway.

I checked Amazon on Black Friday looking for it and didn't see it. I guess I'm just more comfortable ordering things through Amazon because they have a really good return/exchange policy if there is something wrong with the set.

I've purchased other Severin titles on Amazon. What makes this one different?

Yes unfortunately the ‘dub subs’ don’t quite sync up to the Italian language track. And for those that speak or understand Italian, there are many differences in the two audio tracks, which will mean you’ll end up either turning the subs off or switching to the English dub. Still, it’s a stunning looking release and very welcome upgrade to my Japanese VHS. One I never thought would see the light of day on Blu.

How off are the syncs overall? Is it sync for the majority or is simply way off?
