Scream Factory will be releasing Return of the Living Dead on 4K on October 18th! Will update the post with any additional info when it's official. The "Dead Beat Dance" song will unfortunately not be included with the release.

Note/Warning - Two audio tracks on this release are mislabeled. Choose the 2.0 option for the original mono audio.. The mislabeling is mentioned here:

The audio menu options are exactly the same between Scream Factory's 2016 special edition and the 2022 release. But what Scream Factory labeled "original mono audio" in 2022 was the "2.0" track in 2016, and what they've labeled "2.0" in 2022 was the "original mono audio" in 2016.

These are the exact same soundtracks (except all three are now 24-bit DTS-HD MA instead of just two of them), but the 2022 discs mislabel two of them.

On his first day on the job at a medical supply warehouse, poor Freddy (Thom Mathews) unwittingly releases toxic gas from a secret U.S. military canister, unleashing an unbelievable terror. The gas reanimates an army of corpses, who arise from their graves with a ravenous hunger... for human brains! Love this film, its fun and bonkers and a wild ride. I'm glad it isn't OOP anymore and that people will get to enjoy it. That being said, I kind of figured at this point another label had licensed it. I'm thinking specifically of Vinegar Syndrome or Kino and honestly I would have preferred those two over SF.
Hopefully SF doesn't fork the encoding once again. I always keep hoping they won't, sigh.

No Scream Factory blu-ray title is safe from 4K release now. Wished they get new films to release rather than old titles. Of course, that's coming from someone that owns the blu-ray. Sell my blu-ray version with slip now or keep it? I've stopped buying anything on blu-ray now.

They're going to announce it has the original soundtrack but due to an unforseen problem it will be on the regular Blu only.

I was kinda bummed on Arrows October slate, but this is a nice start for Shout.

Hopefully (but doubtful) the soundtrack will be intact.

Now just hoping if they do Halloween 6, that it's a UHD for both the Producer's Cut and Theatrical Cut. After Lifeforce and Army of Darkness, I'm not so sure.
