I'm surprised it tooked them this long to make a bio pic on Lucy. I'm interested to see how this goes.

I haven't caught the sequel/remake-itis like some people here, but I'm definitely over the never-ending flow of biopics.

Don't know much about Ball but did she do enough to warrant a biopic? Other than I Love Lucy, what's there to show?

Very much in. Lucille Ball is one of my all time favorite actresses, and I look forward to seeing how they do this. It's good seeing her family is involved as well.

Definitely want to check this out, too. Hopefully it does feature Desi quite a bit, too. I have to say that he made some brilliant business decisions, such as footing the bill to shoot I Love Lucy on film, which meant excellent quality but also meant that he retained the rights to the original film footage and made him a lot of money.

And don't forget that he also forced cinematographer Karl Freund (Dracula, Murders in the Rue Morgue, Camille, Key Largo, The Mummy, etc.) out of retirement to shoot the show.

But as good an actress as Cate Blanchett is and as good a job as she did playing Hepburn in "The Aviator", it's going to be hard seeing anyone as Lucille Ball except for Lucille Ball.

A lot. Her star power was an important thing entertainment wise for the 50s and running a tv studio as a woman in the 60s is kind of a big deal. I don't care about biopics but she was one of a kind.

Ball also played a part in Star Trek even existing...Not kidding. That's how influential she was. There's a lot of story to tell with her.

This could be very interesting; Cate's a great actress, and Lucy's name still resonates with people even 26 years after her death (hard to believe its been that long). My only concern now is who they'll get to play Desi, since he's almost as legendary as Lucy.

Oscar Isaac

Watch Sucker Punch...easily pull it off.

Although he'd get added to "in everything" thread...

There was one made in 1991 called Lucy & Desi: Before the Laughter. It was a TV movie, though, and not that great from what I remember. It's been years since I saw it. They could definitely make a better one.
