No, I'm not going to talk about how sad I am. I'm actually quite happy these days, considering the state of the world 2022. But I wanted to talk about why I collect, and how collecting helps me with "depression". I'm not seeing a shrink or anything so maybe I don't have depression, but I do get SAD. It's winter here in Baltimore and damn if it doesn't make me feel like crap. I really need to move to LA...
But I started collecting 80s/90s TV shows and movies more frequently in the winter I noticed. I've been dealing with heavy nostalgia for those two decades. It's something I think about constantly. So I started picking up shows and movies that take me back to that era when the world wasn't so messed up. Forget the fact the Cold War was ready to erase us all with nuclear Armageddon, I was too young to notice. So I'm deep in buying DVD sets of Matlock, Knight Rider, Diagnosis Murder, 21 Jump Street, 90210, Baywatch, and so many more that take me back to that better time. Anyone else nostalgia buy to keep them from feeling down? |
