I just got off the phone with a customer service rep at Warner Home Video, and here's the latest regarding the little "snafu" that some of us are experiencing:
Contact Warner Home Video at 1-800-364-6928 and let them know that you received an HD DVD in with your gift set. Right now they have made no determination on exactly how they're handling it (for those of you, like myself, that were told to send it all back, don't, call them back and verify), but will notify their customers that call with this problem via e-mail once a decision has been made. I'm simply passing this on to help avoid confusion, and days and days of frustration by not getting an answer from Warner Home Video as to what they're doing. They're waiting on Corporate (and from the rep I talked to, they're hoping that corporate just decides to send out a replacement without getting anything mailed back) to make a decision, and until then they're just collecting data. For those of us that want to start enjoying our movies now (except for the HD DVD, and NO! we don't want to hear from you purple people regarding this), this is good news, as we won't have to wait weeks and weeks for our replacement gift set to come back to us. So start making those phone calls if you're one of the unfortunate ones like myself that got "infected" with their Harry Potter Gift Set so that the healing process can begin... ![]() [EDIT] Sorry, I should have clarified: this is for those that ordered their set from Warner Home Video directly. Of course if you bought it from a local retailer, they should handle the exchange for you there. Didn't mean to confuse anyone... [UPDATE DEC 17, 2007] Just confirmed with a phone call to WHV: They are sending out the regular Blu-ray edition of 'Goblet of Fire' to all customers who have reported the problem to WHV so that you will have the complete set for the holidays. In addition, they ARE minting the special edition Blu-ray copy and will mail that to you in a future shipment once they are available. So good news! You get two copies of the movie for your inconvenience, and if you haven't already contact WHV regarding your order, what are you waiting for?! [UPDATE DEC 18, 2007] Posted by another member, below is a copy of the text of an e-mail received by them regarding getting your replacement disc: Dear Sir, Warner Home Video has corrected the problem. In order to receive your replacement disc we ask that you please contact our toll free number at 1-800-553-6937. Thanks again for contacting us. Melissa Mobilio Customer Service Specialist Please use this number to report your missing or HD DVD disc for your set. Last edited by SpikesBluBlooded; 12-18-2007 at 09:44 PM.
