Default Sony AR11S-limited results

Gents,

I am based in the Uk and need some advice.

Just received my first 2 BD from the states, KOH and Black hawk down.
When playing both on the notebook the picture from both discs is jumpy
and the sound drops in and out.
I have done the updates for both the Bluray drive and the Windvd BD software.

When I connected the notebook to a plasma screen via a HDMI cable, the problems if anything are worse.
I also have an Arcam DVD player which I tried with the same connectin before and after....it worked without any issues.

Anyone had similar problems or can offer up a solution?
Cheers

my assumption would be that you have to many background processes running. i'd try eliminating a few to free up some compute cycles. after all, processing an hd movie takes a lot more juice than a DVD

Thanks for the info

KOH will now run no problem on the Laptop.
Still having no joy outputing via an HDMI connection to the Pioneer Plasma.
Windvd BD keeps displaying an error message asking me to change the screen settings.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as the Sony tech help desk is now shut till Monday......Good work Sony

Cheers
