Default Brian Cox Science Documentaries

I'm a huge fan of Brian's Docs. For the most part they're pretty wonderful. I'm curious if anyone knows how the American releases are scheduled?

For instance, there are three Docs that were release in he UK rather recently but there seems to be no U.S. Release for two of them.

2019: The Planets
2021: Brian Cox's Adventures in Space and Time
2021: Universe
...and a twofer: Universe & The Planets Box Set

The American version of "The Planets" has a different narrator and was "adjusted" for American tastes ("Science," adjusted for Americans... sad and fairly annoying).

I looked all around for info on the Intertubes but couldn't find much of anything about the American releases.

Any ideas?

I don't know but are there releases elsewhere planned? Looks interesting.

I'm curious about this. Is it adjusted for political content (reduced climate science content for those that don't want climate science in science related programs), or is it just dumbed down in general?

Sorry I can't answer your question re: releases, but I do hope as well that they get here. But we can always import them, 4K not being region encoded, yes?

The Planets: We'd seen it on BBC or Prime or something, and we really loved it, as usual. So we picked-up the American Version and when we started it up, "suddenly" the Narration was by someone other than Brian. It was weird and, no offense to the American Narrator, completely staid and boring. Which to me is weird, especially considering the subject is the most inspirational subject known to humans: Science.

I called Amazon and when I told them the situation, they were 100% cool, promised to change the Page Info (Dunno if they ever did)... refunded my money, and even gave me 5 Clams for my trouble.

We just ordered Cox's "Universe" and David Attenborough's "Green Planet" and "The Mating Game" though Amazon (U.S. - RAREWAVES-IMPORTS) so I can chime-in when we get those. I assume they're Region B.

We've got almost everything that was shown on the BBC, even the stuff that wasn't released, like the recent "Brian Cox's Adventures in Space." I think I found that on YouTube in 1080p and D/Led it. It was only up for a couple days and the BBC pulled it.

I don't mean the narrator part, I mean your statement that in addition to the change of narrator, they "adjusted for American tastes"

Yes, the narrator change is something they've done a lot of and I always import when that happens. But I'm asking if the content was changed beyond that (because you listed that separately from the change of narrator).

I was expecting Brian and when it wasn't him, I watched for a little bit and then turned it off, so I'm not sure what was changed. But, for what it's worth, the listing at Wiki just says: "Originally released in the UK, it was changed to cater more to the American audience watching on PBS's series Nova."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pl...2019_TV_series)

I guess that might mean they may have made it a bit more "Dry..." or Dumbed it Down...
