The Substitute (1996), where?

I was told that The Substitute (1996) has recently been released on Blu-ray. I would like to import this disc, however, I could not find any information about the release of this movie.

Did anyone here come across the Blu-ray of this and could point me to the country of its origin or to some web-store? Thanks a lot in advance!

It looks like the release came out in Denmark in March of last year (its kind of sketchy). The back of the case has the usual array of Nordic/Scandinavian languages so it might turn up in Sweden, Finland and Norway eventually.

It sounds like the quality of the release might not be the best though.

A few Danish shops that ship internationally seem to have it. It's going for about 100 Danish Krone or about $20USD everywhere I've looked, the only difference you might find between them is shipping costs/speed.

Edit: Also if you just want to re-watch the movie you can rent it for $2USD in "1080p" on YouTube VOD.

I enjoyed this movie, but it sounds as if this transfer has a lot of DNR going on, so I finally decided not to import it right away.

the blu ray site doesnt list it has being released

Australian label Vis Vision released a 4 disc Blu-Ray set of the entire 4 movie series back in August 2024. It should be still in print but the price will vary since it is an import. All 4 discs are region free
