The Godfather 2 4K audio issues??

I was looking at the upgrades for Godfather 1 and 2 in 4K for first time, watching my favorite scenes to see how beautiful they are.


For some reason, on Godfather 2, I skipped to the Pentangelli Senate Committee scene, and I'm getting the accessibility audio description/voiceover describing the scene when there's no dialogue.

I looked in my settings and have it turned off, as I've never used it, and it's still on.

Can anyone check to see if they're also experiencing this?

2:35:14 "The committee members cover their mic and consult with each other"
2:37:19 "Frankie's brother Vincenzo looks around the room with a confused frown as people leave..."

I didn't go through the entire movie but it's still doing it through all the scenes I'm watching.

I switched back to Godfather 1 and its' not doing it. Only for this movie.

It’s the whole film. Several people are reporting having the same issue (me included). I’m sure it’ll get fixed soon… hopefully anyway, haha!!

Ah ok. I was confused as hell. lol

I went through the settings three times, turned it on and off just to make sure it wasn't just a device glitch.

The audio track is also only Stereo.

I'm watching Godfather 1 in the Italy scenes, a little upset they didn't use the old subtitles on the movie (The Godfather font), and instead they only use the Apple subtitles.

You can change how the subtitles look in the ATV settings, granted not exactly the same you may find something more to your liking.

I really thought the audio issue would be fixed by now… such a strange error!!

Is it affecting everyone, meaning even those who just bought the film or redeemed their codes today, or just those who bought it previously and are getting free 4k upgrades?

It’s the same copy regardless, so it’s an “everybody problem”

Edit: ……. and just like that, Apple fixed the descriptive audio glitch. Still no Atmos for me though.

No Atmos track was created for these movies so 5.1 is all there’ll ever be.

At least Apple has the subtitles for the Sicily sequences on Godfather Part 1. Vudu is missing these subtitles. My Vudu stream says "speaking Italian" and nothing else. The only scene in the movie that should have this treatment is the restaurant scene where Michael kills Sollozzo.
