Default Looney Tunes Mouse Chronicles: Chuck Jones Collection

Looney Tunes Mouse Chronicles: Chuck Jones Collection
Warner Bros. | 1939-1951 | 145 min | Not rated | Aug 28, 2012

I'm shocked this release never got it's own thread. No wonder WB has abandoned Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry on Blu-ray. No one seems to care. And that's probably why it's dirt cheap on eBay.

I watched this yesterday with my kids and they loved it. They especially enjoyed the Hubie and Bertie ones.

Disc One: Sniffles

1. Naughty but Mice (1939)
2. Little Brother Rat (1939)
3. Sniffles and Bookworm (1939)
4. Sniffles Takes a Trip (1940)
5. The Egg Collector (1940)
6. Bedtime for Sniffles (1940)
7. Sniffles Bells the Cat (1941)
8. Toy Trouble (1941)
9. The Brave Little Bat (1941)
10. The Unbearable Bear (1943)
11. Lost and Foundling (1944)
12. Hush My Mouse (1946)

Disc Two: Hubie and Bertie

1. The Aristo-Cat (1943)
2. Trap Happy Porky (1945)
3. Roughly Squeaking (1946)
4. House Hunting Mice (1947)
5. Mouse Wreckers (1949)
6. The Hypo-Chondri-Cat (1950)
7. Cheese Chasers (1951)

Bonus Cartoons from the WB Vault (SD, 78 minutes): Eleven bonus shorts, in various states of standard definition disrepair: "Country Mouse," "The Lyin' Mouse," "The Mice Will Play," "Little Blabbermouse," "Shop Look & Listen," "Mouse Mazurka," "Mouse-Warming," "Mouse-Taken Identity," "Mice Follies," "It's Nice to Have a Mouse Around the House" and "Merlin the Magic Mouse."

Man, what I would not pay to own the COMPLETE Looney Tunes collection, including of course the censored eleven cartoons. IMHO, Disney cannot hold a candle to the sheer genius that is Looney Tunes. I fondly remember Saturday mornings, eating my cereal to Bugs Bunny and Friends. I've seen what passes for cartoons these days, and I just don't get it. Very sad.

Yeah, I really cherish my sets. I've managed to pick them up on the cheap from all over the world. I got Volume 1 from Canada, Volume 2 from Germany, Volume 3 from Mexico, and The Mouse Chronicles from Spain.

I agree with your comment regarding Disney vs Looney Tunes. The artistry was always top notch at Disney, but those cartoons always lacked the zany energy of the Warner Bros ones.

Hi there,

Just like Jar Jar, I also got my 4 Looney Tunes Blu-ray sets from Canada (Vol.1 Limited Ed.), Germany (Vol.2+3) and Spain (Mouse Chronicles).
The ones from Germany were especially cheap, at an average of $10,- each inc.
shipping.
They all look great I think, so anybody who is even half interested in animation or the Looney Tunes, should be ashamed of themselves if they haven't picked at least one of these sets up.

Would love to see more of these or other older animation on blu-ray.

Great minds think alike! BTW, I pulled out that stupid shot glass insert in my Volume 1 set and use the box to house the other cases.

This set also happens to have a Porky Pig episode, "Trap Happy Porky" on Disc 2. On Cartoon Network and The WB Television Network, the opening shot of the sign stating "Uncle Tom's Cabins- Boarders Taken (For All They've Got!)" was cut.

Huh, appears to be out of print now? That's too bad. I waited too long to pick it up.

says sold out at BB

anyway add your email here to maybe give a hint to WB to print some more up:
https://www.wbshop.com/products/loon...-collection-bd

man, too bad I missed it this potentially, just nowhere to be found other than a very few super scalper prices, for now I'll just wait and hope for another printing, the fact that someone above already went to Spain in 2015 to get a good price doesn't sound too promising though

I'm coming late to the party here - I only just picked up volume 1 recently. Are you saying the German editions of volumes 2 and 3 are the 3- and 2-disk sets? Because the reviews on Amazon.de suggest they are single disks (although some eBay listings don't). It would be massively cheaper for me to pick up these editions for around €10 each rather than the £30 odd it would cost to import them from the US!

If we are talking the platinum editions of Looney Tunes,

I can confirm that the above are 3 and 2 discs respectively. I ordered them from Amazon.De 5 years ago.

I wonder why so many of the cartoon releases have two or more discs and then only store say 2GB for DVDs and 14-20GB for blu-rays per disc when they could often slash number of discs by 30%-50%.
