Default Sleeping Beauty to be the first Combo Blu-ray/DVD

On Amazon.com it now says Sleeping Beauty will be a 3 disc set (though not on the picture yet) and will include the actual DVD as well as the Blu Ray. It would be cool if this was a sign of things to come

First of all... what a waste!

Secondly... Thank Christ (not that I believe in him) they aren't trying to hybrid a single disc as the combo!

I for one would never buy a Blu-ray with a DVD inside of the package. I would just get the Blu-ray edition or nothing at all.

hmmmmm....intresting.

wonder if people have been complaining that they can't watch blus on all their tvs or if they are testing if people will go the blu only route and get the dvd now and pay a little extra so they have the blu when they move up to a blu-rya player in a year.

i know i would have bought a combo dvd/vhs set 10 years ago if it was cheaper in the long haul.

I disagree. I think this is somewhat of a refreshing twist because as a parent I enjoy the movie at its highest definition, however my children could care less as long at it plays in our minivan, which obviously at this point only plays DVD. I welcome this advantage, for movies such as this. Now TDK or Batman Begins wouldn't be as much of a value for me.

Because you figure its a family movie, and little kids who watch this movie likely dont have BD players in their rooms

Same reasons for me as well but I would take TDK and BB like that because then i could watch them on planes, and roadtrips when im not driving

maybe Disney wants people to be able to show other people the difference between Blu & dvd, without having to buy 2 copies. A demo of sorts

Maybe Amazon got some wrong info and the DVD just holds a digital copy.

That's actually a pretty good assumption. I would wager that this is the case.

I think it's a great way to get all the hardcore Disney DVD collectors (I'm one of them lol) into Blu-ray. I know a few other people that like to collect the Disney classics on DVD, and it seems those are the people that are the most stubborn about upgrading to Blu-ray. This is a great move on Disney's part.

I'll sell the dvd...IF this is a legit move by Disney. I'm still waiting to see how the transfer will be in 1080. I guess I can see why they did it...but idk it's still odd but that's because it's the "first"

alot of kids like watching movies in their room (like at bed time) and not many small kids have blu-ray players in their room so I think this is a way to get muti dvd/tv familys on board so if you dont own sleeping beauty already you lose nothing by buying the blu version

Couldn't it be the DisneyFile aka DigitalCopy disc and not just a regular DVD edition of the film?
