Default [PS3/PS Vita]Akiba's Trip 2

Quote:
Acquire is developing a sequel to their Akihabara adventure game, Akibas Trip. Famitsu reports Akibas Trip 2 is in development for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

Akibas Trip 2 is also set at the famous district in Japan and like the previous game it will have actual stores in Akihabara for players to visit. There will be over double the amount of real life stores in Akibas Trip 2.

Another change is the game gives you a partner character in the story. The magazine names two characters Shizuku Tokikaze (voiced by Sachika Misawa) and Toshiko Sagisaka (voiced by Chiwa Saito). The first game had a mechanic where you would strip vampire-like characters to expose them to the sun. Akibas Trip 2 has a new move called a Unison Strip.

Akibas Trip 2 comes out on November 7. Reservations include a heart pounding Tokyo hot springs story drama CD, special booklet, and costume DLC.

The lead character in Akibas Trip 2 is just a regular Akihabara-loving geek. He gets caught up into a mess with the mysterious Magaimono organization and these demon corpse people. Their weakness is sunlight, which is why strip attacks, a move where you tear off an opponents clothes, is such an effective technique.

New for Akibas Trip 2 is you get to pick a partner character to explore Akihabara with you. Shizuku Tokikaze, the girl with purple pigtails, saves the protagonist when he is captured by the mysterious organization. She seems to be infused with marvelous power, but what kind of power she has is a mystery. Toshiko Sagisaka is a childhood friend of the protagonist, but she isnt an otaku. She knows Akihabara well because she was part of the Akihabara Vigilante Corps two years ago.

Akibas Trip 2, like the first game, is part adventure and part beat em up. One of the new moves you have is the Unison Strip technique where you and your partner can strip an opponent. Akibas Trip 2 is slated for release on November 7 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

Akibas Trip for PSP had a decent recreation of Akihabara with actual stores you would see if you visited Tokyos otaku haven. Akibas Trip 2 will top that since Acquire put in over 130 shops for players to visit. Interesting tidbit Acquires main office is located in the heart of Akihabara right next to the train station.

The only difference in Acquires game is there are bloodsucking demon creatures creeping around Akihabara. Players can defeat these enemies by exposing them to sunlight which means stripping off their clothes. Akibas Trip 2's story centers around a conspiracy and the plot changes depending on which partner you have and the decisions you make.

Akibas Trip 2 comes out for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on November 7.

Acquire has introduced one of the heroines of Akibas Trip 2, the action-RPG in which you hunt vampire-like creatures by getting into fist fights with them and ripping off their clothes.

Touko Sagisaka is a student at a womens college in Akihabara, as well as the main characters childhood friend and older sister-figure. Shes not much of an otaku, but she has been a member of the Akiba Vigilance Committee for two years. As a central figure of the group, she is a reliable person with fast reflexes.

Touko is one of several partners with their own sub-plots whom you can join forces with to explore Akihabara and beat up demons. Akibas Trip 2 is scheduled to be released for the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita on November 7.

A trailer for Acquire's upcoming Akiba's Trip 2 PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita game began streaming on Tuesday. The video features the opening song "True Story" by Luna Haruna (Fate/Zero, Sword Art Online, Monogatari Series Second Season)

In the sequel to the 2011 vampire-hunting action game, the protagonist once again faces demons and vampires in Tokyo's Akihabara (Akiba) district. The only way to defeat the vampires is to strip their clothing and expose them to the sunlight.

The game's cast includes:

Chiwa Saito as Tōko Sagisaka, a student who attends a women's college in Akihabara. She is the hero's childhood friend who is like a sister to him.

Sachika Misawa as Shizuku Tokikaze, a girl who helps save the hero but is taken away by a mysterious organization when she is on the verge of death. She talks about her mission to bury the manmade vampires known as magaimono. She wields a mysterious power.

Eriko Nakamura as Shion Kasugai, a talented 26-year-old who became CEO of a pharmaceutical company. Her interest in the magaimono cases has her often crossing paths with the protagonist. Is she an enemy or an ally?

Aya Suzaki as Nana, the protagonist's little sister. She is an indoors-type of person who is full of imagination and loves Western clothes and sewing. She is not much for socializing, but she adores her brother, whom she calls "Niini."

The game will ship for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on November 7. The PS3 version will retail for 7,329 yen (about US$74), and the PS Vita version will retail for 6,594 yen (US$66). The first copies of the game will come with a "Tokidoki Tokyo Onsen Monogatar"i drama CD, a special booklet, and a bonus DLC costume.

Well the 1st 1 didn't, but then again it was a PSP exclusive including the updated version. People thought XSEED, Aksys, or NISA would localize it since it seemed like a perfect game for them to localize plus they still release PSP games. But it never happened.

Though this being on PS Vita and especially PS3, it does have a higher chance.

Dood!

In addition to having actual Akihabara stores for players to visit, Akibas Trip 2 has giant billboards for video games like Disgaea 4 Return over video game retailer Softmap and an ad for the Neptunia anime DVD series above Comic Zin. Check out the huge Super Sonico billboard over Yodobashi Akiba and the nod to Taito music group Zuntata.

Just like the original Akibas Trip, Akibas Trip 2 has loading screens that represent Akihabara culture. Theres a screen with Super Potato, a video game retailer with a treasure trove of retro games, and Kaku-San-Sei Million Arthur, a popular free to play game from Square Enix.

Akibas Trip 2 has more than Disgaea 4 Return billboards in it. Prinny (specifically Hero Prinny since he has that red scarf) is kind of in Akibas Trip 2 as an object you can pick up. It appears that Prinny is a weapon you can use, but if you really want to defeat the vampire-like creatures you have to expose them to sunlight. And that means pulling off their clothes.

Akibas Trip 2 comes out tomorrow for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

Akibas Trip 2 comes out today and there are three bonus costumes available for free. You can dress the protagonist up with a Giga Tokyo Toy Box outfit.

A White Knight armor set from Ragnarok Odyssey Ace and Ms costume are available for the female characters. Youre in Akihabara so cosplaying is natural.

Akibas Trip 2 will be released for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. An update for the Vita version adds a number of new features like PS Vita TV support, an option to change your little sisters name, and more customization options for players to unlock. After beating Akibas Trip 2 you can change the protagonists model, skin, and voice when you replay the game.

Another unlockable post-game feature is an option to make all of the people walking around Akihabara wear transparent clothes. Want everyone in town to be a giant? Theres an option to do that or change everyone in Akihabara to a kid. Finally, there is an option that gives you a hint on what choices make heroines favor you.

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia has been actively localizing RPGs like taking care of Demons Souls before Atlus picked it up and releasing Ragnarok Odyssey Ace in English first.

Akibas Trip 2 has been picked up for localization, but unfortunately the Asian version will only have Chinese and Korean text. Voiceovers will remain in Japanese. This version of Akibas Trip 2 will be released in early 2014 for PS3 and Vita.

Games from Square Enix and Atlus are typically on Sonys localization list. It looks like more of GungHo Online Entertainments titles are being handled in the same way, so perhaps well see English versions of other GungHo titles in the future.

Siliconera asked Kazuki Morishita, President of GungHo Online Entertainment, if they will bring Akibas Trip 2 overseas and he said they would consider it if there is a huge audience out there for it. So, heres a long look at Akibas Trip 2, an action game as wacky as Way of the Samurai, but set in modern day Japan. Players can walk around Akihabara which was painstakingly recreated for the PlayStation 3 and Vita game.

The crossovers for Akibas Trip 2 keep coming. Acquire announced a free costume that lets players dress their partner character up like Sue from Genshiken: The Second Generation. In the anime series, Sue is an American student at Shiiou University who is obsessed with anime and manga which makes her fit in perfectly with the game.

Akibas Trip 2 players can get Sues one piece dress as a free costume on the PlayStationStore.

Acquire also partnered with Tsukuyomi: Moon Phase artist Keitaro Arima to create a what if comic for Akibas Trip 2. No details about where it will be released, but its in the works.

XSEED are bringing Akibas Trip 2 to North America, under the title Akibas Trip: Undead & Undressed. The game will be released for the PlayStation 3 and Vita this Summer.

In the game, youre trying to repel a brooding malevolence that has infested Tokyos popular electronics district, Akihabara. The district has been invaded by Synthisters, creatures who prey on Akibas otaku like vampires, feasting on their will to live and energy to socialize. (Theres a joke here, but Im not making it.)

Like regular vampires, though, the Synthisters are weak against sunlight, so youll need to identify which of the normal-looking humans are Synthisters with the help of an in-game smartphone app, and strip them of their clothing to expose them to the sun. Once youve taken their clothes, you can use them for yourself.

Heres a story summary for the game from XSEED:

Akibas Trip: Undead & Undressed tells the story of a young man named Nanashi who was lured into a trap and transformed into one of the walking undead. Lucky enough to be spared the worst of his fate by the kiss of a mysterious Synthister hunter named Shizuku, Nanashi is sworn to rid Akihabara of the Synthister threat. Together with the rest of his companions in an organization unofficially dubbed the Akiba Freedom Fighters, Nanashi and Shizuku must uncover the truth behind the Synthister plague and save Akiba from being overrun by their kind.

Akibas Trip: Undead & Undressed will be released for the PlayStation 3 and Vita this Summer.

Akibas Trip Undead And Undressed New DLC

Quote:
Kati will have justice. Acquire is working on DLC for Akibas Trip: Undead & Undressed (a.k.a. Akibas Trip 2). The new addition comes nearly nine years after the game was originally released in 2013 and 2014 on PS3 and PS Vita. The DLC, which was announced on June 5, 2022, will add a new story route for one of the playable characters.

Akibas Trip: Undead & Undressed is an open-world action game structured similarly to Acquires Way of the Samurai series. Players roam an accurately rendered version of Tokyos Akihabara neighborhood, hunting down Synthisters, vampire-like superhuman creatures. The Synthisters walk among the regular humans, preying upon the lifeforce of tourists, cosplayers, and the unsuspecting masses crowding the famous district. The player is turned into one of them and teams up with an impromptu gang known as the Akiba Freedom Fighters to investigate the incidents and bring peace to Japans nerd haven. The game was notable for its location-accurate use of stores and establishments from real-life Akihabara, as well as its Strip Action combat. Players fight Synthisters, but need to defeat them by tearing off their clothing and exposing their bodies to sunlight.

The new route for Akibas Trip: Undead & Undressed is called the Kati Route and focuses on Kati Rikknen, a partner for the player character and the only heroine in the game without a story route of her own. The original release of Akibas Trip 2 contained multiple endings based on the players pursuit of one of four heroines: Touko Sagisaka, the players childhood friend, Shizuku Tokikaze, the players savior, Rin Tokikaze, Shizukus sister, and Shion Kasugai, genius president of a pharmaceutical company. Kati is a foreign student from Finland, who visited Japan to study and engage in her love of anime and JRPGs. She dresses in a hand-made maid outfit for kicks.

Akibas Trip: Undead & Undressed is available for PS4, PS3, PS Vita, and PC, and the Kati Route DLC is in development, though an English release of the add-on is not yet confirmed. The first Akibas Trip title was localized and released on Switch, PS4, and PC in 2021 as Akibas Trip: Hellbound and Debriefed. Check out Siliconeras official review.
