When did ebay start making you add "best offer" to your listings? I would usually keep the option disabled since all I ever sell are low value movies or random AG clothes. Now when I relist they have language about the button saying "you agree to receive offers from buyers" whenever you pick fixed price if they determine you're asking too much for an item.

I tried, the checkbox was completely gone from its spot under the price box. I'm not going to mess with this listing again since I already deleted it once, but I'll watch when my next listing runs out.
I did notice in the recent email user agreement update that starting in June "We may automatically renew your fixed-price listings unless your listing sells out or you cancel your listing." |

I don't know... I never saw an option to make a high/low for my auction, and I just checked the other item I have up and saw that it too had "best offer" added automatically. I'm hoping that since I never set any amounts, that means I'll have to respond to each offer manually.
There's always the possibility that it was a browser malfunction, since I'm on the old laptop at the moment. But it's still weird. |

I tried revising, there was no option to remove it.
![]() Every time I've revised in the past, the option for best offer was under the price box. Now it's gone. ![]() |

I love dealing with lowball "best" offers... listed a game last week for a really GOOD price of $20, which was less than the market. Three offers came in, the lowest being under $6... got annoyed and removed that from the listing and hiked the price to $26 plus shipping... it sold the next day

Just a few days ago I sold my first ever listing on Ebay...a sealed copy of the Rogue One Best Buy steenbok.
...for $70.99 I was so happy about it...until I realized that the the final bid was made by a fake buyer who had opened his account the same day he made the bid. I'm about 75% sure it was done by someone on this site, just to mess with me. Yes I had made the mistake of mentioning the sale and including some information about the price I was asking for. Ebay is a cesspool of scamming and general con artistry. |

I believe I uncovered the reasoning behind my little problem, hidden in fine print at the bottom:
"When you choose 'Fixed price', we'll send you reasonable offers from buyers (if any) to give you a better chance of selling. Offers sent are based on similar items that sold on eBay. If your Buy It Now price is low to begin with, then we won't send you offers. You choose whether to accept or decline." Thank you ebay, I wanted all these crap emails clogging my inbox. ![]() Edit: Solution uncovered! It's a new "quick listing tool" format because we're all stupid. ![]() To fix listings en masse: Quote:

I hadn't sold on ebay in a long time, and listed a bunch of movies the last few days without knowing about this "offers" crap. It seems like ALL I GET are offers. Sometimes people offer more than the initial bid, but if I ignore it, they just never bid that initial amount and the item expires with nothing, when they could have just bid and gotten it for cheaper than they'd offered. It's like everyone just wants to manually haggle now instead of bidding. It's really annoying. Even if I turn off Ebay's "allow offers" stuff I just get a non-stop parade of people sending me messages like "hey would you take 50 for this?" NO, I would not, especially not if I don't have offers enabled because then I would get no protection at all if I cancel the item and take your word that you won't try to scam me. Ugh.
Sorry about the bump, just had to rant about this and didn't know where the heck else to do it. Where can you sell without dealing with this BS? I know amazon at least used to be an option, but last I checked you lost huge chunks of the profit to amazon's charges. It's amazing how bad ebay has gotten since the last time I used it. |
