I'm not familiar with the film, but that's a fantastic cast.

Agree with NoirFan. I also am not familiar with the film, but will be getting it based on cast alone, and good reviews.

Excellent film, the blu ray will easily blow away the non anamorphic DVD.
I recommend this one too, really well done

Very underrated Rita Hayworth performance in this. She didn't get enough credit for some of her later roles like this one and her role in "The Story on Page One". The whole cast is great in this but the scenes with her and Burt Lancaster are my favourite.

amazing news!
one of the greatest casts ever assembled for one film.
based on a play, and you can tell watching the film.
heavy dialogue driven film--lots of people sitting around talking, so if that type of film is not your thing maybe rent first if possible.

Absolutely excellent news, and most unexpected.

I wonder if Criterion will give us an HD upgrade on The Browning Version?

I don't know much about this film, but I've discovered Burt Lancaster in a big way this past year. What are your general thoughts? Anybody picking up this release?

Blind buy for me based on cast and director. Has good ratings on multiple review sites. I am also a huge fan of Lancaster. It arrived yesterday and I will watch hopefully this weekend.

My Blu-rays of Separate Tables, Witness for the Prosecution, Marty, and The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes all shipped from Amazon yesterday.
These are all blind buys for me that were purchased based on favorable past experience with the other works of the directors and casts.
I'm looking forward to seeing what all of the hubbub is about.

Where did the poster come from at the top of this thread?
Couple of interesting items:

In the upper left the old "Adult" classification, and
in the lower right someone wrote 'fat pigs'.

Hey... I just notice stuff like that... and I'm easily entertained.
