I saw the original in theaters as a tiny kid, but only saw it again on TV years later and haven't rewatched it since. It was interesting for a spider movie. I remember John Goodman may have been in it.

Landon has a good handle on "funny" horror, and while good, the original Arachnophobia is hardly any sort of sacred cow. I'd be up for this.

I have zero fear of spiders, though I am cautious around poisonous spiders. Many times, I'll remove a spider in my home, inside of a container to take it outdoors to play outside.

Is it true that a spider will draw blood from a person or bite them?
I've seen maybe a hundred baby tiny spiders emerge from a ceiling fan and float through the air to the floor.

I forgot Jeff Daniels was the main guy in this film. John Goodman was the most memorable character in the original.

I consider the original a classic, a brilliant example of the family-friendly end of the horror genre scale. Probably gets a viewing at least two or three times a year, so a remake would have a lot to live up to. No doubt it’ll be a cgi-filled, soulless experience, but I’ll reserve proper judgment until there’s more info.

The original is a hugely underrated classic bit of comedy horror. It's about as close to Gremlins as you can get without Gremlins. It's an unnecessary remake but then, aren't most of em?

I love movies like this. There hasn't been near enough spider/ant/bee movies the last 20 years.
