Excellent question. What the hell happened? Desperado was great, and that sequel was just a hugely inferior mess!

Will there be a Desperado-only release?? That's all I want!

I believe he is referring to it being advertised as coming to Blu-ray practically since the launch of the format itself.

El Mariachi is the best of the three. The only film with a decent character-development.

Let's stop effing around and package the dang trilogy!

These are where Rodriguez cut his teeth and it belongs to be put out for collectors of Rodriguez.

I liked El Mariachi, I really like Desperado and Once upon a time in Mexico was a huge letdown. Johnny Depp sucks on that one.

Darn, I was looking forward to a trilogy set. I know Once Upon a Time in Mexico wasn't the best of the 3, but I don't think it was all that bad. Also, I really wanted it because it was filmed in my dad's hometown, and we could have enjoyed the scenery in 1080p. Oh well, I'm sure we'll still see it eventually.

I am definitely looking forward to this set coming out as well as Once Upon a Time in Mexico. Great film series. I am surprised that they aren't just going to make a Trilogy set

Really disappointed this isn't the trilogy set
I really enjoy all 3 movies so I'm really sad to see they aren't being released together....

Cant believe its not being released as a trilogy, this pretty agravating since its been released on dvd as a trilogy, there is no reason why they couldnt release them as a trilogy for there bluray debut.

Thanks for the heads up, its strange that the last one is releasing a week before the first 2. I also noticed that the amazon price for the first two movies togeather is 13.99 as well.
so all three movies for about 28 dollars even if not in a proper box set is pretty good.
