Is there an easy way to tell if a disc is BD-25 or BD-50?

Without checking myself, I'm sure a single layer (BD-25) has just the one ring around the centre of the playing surface which contains a series of digits and the dual layer (BD-50) should have two rings.

Single layer will have BVSS in tiny letters on the inner ring underneath. Dual layer will have BVDL. Most of the time anyway.

You do know that it will not make the Movie any better, and if it fits on a 25Gig Discs they will put it there.They will not put it on a 50Gig unless the extras call for it. I use to do Back-up Discs, and if the Move fit on a 25Gig Disc I would put it there. If it needed more I would use 50Gig Disc.

There is a little thing called bitrate. The better the bitrate the better the picture. Better companies will max the bitrate to a BD50 for maximum picture quality.
Cheaper companies will use lower bitrates to a BD25.
It is not about the extras on the disc.
