Unexpected, but welcome. Hopefully the transfer Shout used for their disc is used with the correct color grading. If it resembles the old Paramount disc...yikes.

Paramount is streaming that transfer in 4K. This should look very nice.

Wow this is certainly a surprise.

I just bought the SF blu-ray earlier this year and had truthfully never seen Escape From L.A. beforehand. It's definitely a step down from EFNY but damn I had a lot of fun with this. I'll definitely pick up the UHD. Fun little movie, dare I say underrated.

Paramount doesn't own that film in the US. If they did, I'm sure they'd release it. You'll need to hit up MGM for a stateside release of NY on 4K. Best of luck with that one.

Wonky visual effects aside, Escape from L.A. is an intentionally whackier and more satirical movie than the original, and one of the most underrated sequels (and movies) ever.

I will never understand the hate it gets.

They see fit to put this on an actual UHD, but took a pass on others like Fatal Attraction, Nashville, Harold & Maude, Mommie Dearest, Flashdance, Airplane!, 48 Hrs., etc. (basically the Paramount Presents titles that got new 4K scans). I mean I'm certainly not complaining that we're getting EFLA, but I want the other ones too. Lol.

I am not saying they are perfect because of glitches but at least Arrow has been better.

Vinegar Sydrome and Blue Unground have been decent.

Ronin with I Spit on Your Grave was simply superb!

Hope Shout can get their act together.

Kino has been the worst!
