That trailer was actually pretty sweet. Reminded me of the old NFS Underground games just with new fancy spider verse animation.

Personally saw the trailer and it looks like a joke. The realistic graphics with the anime style graphics and whatnot i thought was going to be a temporary intro thing for the video, but then carries on for the entire thing.
I just wish they'd have one consistent style shown. The characters look like a joke when intertwined into the realistic world. I didn't get to appreciate the detailing on the cars either as a result. If it is just a temporary reveal choice for the art style, fair enough, but i don't intend to play this unless free to me because i am not feeling that at all. |

Hopefully the driving is better than in Need for Speed PS4, but this looks like that game's direct sequel with all the street racing clubs. That first game on PS4, the cutscenes could not be skipped so I had to slog through all the live-action BS just to get to the next mission.
EA specifically states "Online play optional" for that first game on PS4, but it's specifically online ONLY even for single player. I have no way to contact Sony to correct it because they don't give an option for customer service for complaints about their PS Store offers and advertising. As soon as you disconnect from the internet, the game stops and cuts back to the lifeless title screen. If this is the same thing, then Ghost Games have learned nothing. I don't feel bad about it as it was part of a rare $3.99 bundle with Unravel and Plants vs Zombies, so I only paid $1.33 for it. Need for Speed Rivals? Fun game for PS4. And playable offline. Need for Speed Payback? Fun game for PS4, offline play. Need for Speed PS4? 1 camera view of the car in 3rd person only, not even a first person view of the road like the other games. Then it's online only and makes the player endure the cutscenes. Not a fan and the night city looked nice but was tiny. |

Confirmed you can switch off the stupid seizure inducing effects seen in the trailer. However, i still am not a fan of the art style mixture. I'm in the camp that would go all in on one coherent style and don't jive with it. I think i would probably play it down the line, as generally i have been an NFS guy when it comes to the arcade racing style games. |

Yeah, the Need for Speed PS4 game, no way to shut off all those filters. Nor the awful, lengthy forced live-action cutscenes. I honestly hope Ghost Games is not involved in this again. They did good with other games, but seem to be repeating the pattern here, almost like this is a reboot of that game. |

I can imagine those special animated effects for replays more than gameplay. Good to see this includes day time, not only night like NFS PS4.
It's unfortunate Rockstar has completely abandoned the Midnight Club series after Midnight Club Los Angeles. That game was a step down from the 2nd and 3rd games, but still decent despite the tiny city. |

Over an hour of gameplay has leaked. Very easy to find if you look for it.

Doesn't look fun and the cartoony sh!t would annoy me.
Surely it can't be that hard for EA to remaster NFS U1/U2 since it's what they've been trying to do for a while. NFS 2015 NFS Heat NFS Unbound Three attempts now. I'm not expecting they got it right by the third time. Last edited by ps3bd_owner; 11-26-2022 at 10:09 PM. |

Thanks for the gameplay videos.
Nice graphics of the city. They still have cars able to plow down heavy light poles GTA style without any delay or impact. It's fun, but shows how tough the controls can be at full speeds. I'm glad I only paid like 1.99 for Need For Speed PS4, which is listed as "online play optional", which is completely false since the game shuts off to the start menu screen the second it's unplugged from the internet no matter how far I got in the game. The game was just okay when I was playing it online. |

That's why I never bothered buying NFS 2015. GT7 is the same thing.
![]() Well, if offline you can play a GT7 Demo and that's it. |

I wonder if this is the same situation for this new game, as it looks online focused like NFS PS4. With GT7, I hear you can start a race online, but then go offline knowing it won't be able to save any progress. |

![]() Personally had no intention to buy this game and that right there is probably a nail in the coffin for me buying anything less than bargain bin PSN sale like some of the other titles. The pathetic hodge podge of anime style characters and real life just personally puts me off and i can't get with it. The blessing for some is you can turn off the crappy anime lines and the anime characters aren't seen during races for the most part much, but i just cannot see this having an engaging story with that crossed art style. I just don't know why they didn't fully commit to the anime style and cross gen the damn game. Would have probably had more sales potential. |

I wisely waited till NFS PS4 was bundled with Unravel and Plants vs Zombies PS4 for $3.99 for all 3, but that bundle only was available through the PS4 console store for some reason, completely absent from the PS5 store. The only reason I got that set was because EA listed NFS PS4 as "Online play optional", which for other games I've played, means there is an offline version that is playable. But not with NFS PS4. Very deceptive/false. I wouldn't mind a NFS with the nice city graphics and cars, and eliminate all the other story nonsense. Just give gamers a way to race cars. I don't need all the bad story junk, and the story in NFS PS4 was terrible and couldn't be skipped for the live-action Fast & The Furious movie cutscenes. |

Good news is that you can turn off the special animated effects if you can't stand them.
The bad is that the cel shaded cartoony characters look really out of place. ![]() ![]() NFS Unbound comes out on December 2 and EA hasn't even allowed IGN to review it. Strange. |

Online only? So, you can only play this game if you are connected to the internet online and it has no offline game modes? No internet, can't play game?
