Default Harmony One doesn't work on the PS3?

Looks like the Harmony One will not work if you own the PS3

Hey,

Never heard of Harmony 1 but my Harmony 659 works great with my PS3 since the day I started using it.

I like the PS3 BlueTooth remote too (it's pretty slick) but I love my Harmony 659.

Just to clarify so folks don't get confused and think the 659 has bluetooth magic capabilities.

To use a Harmony remote [pretty much any of them] with the PS3 you need to get a 3rd party solution typically a USB remote adapter plug. There are some out there.

The Harmony One looks like it's a new shell design on the 880 from what I can tell [thought the 890 at first, but folks say no RF so 880].

And it's not that simple. I mean my Harmony 880 with usb dongle from that 3rd party remote is having issues. lag is 3-4 seconds between an actual keystroke and reaction from PS3. Which doesn't happen if I use original 3rd party remote. Problem was reported on harmony forums too, dunno if there ever was a solution tho.

Ouch, that I didn't know, myself I use the PS3 remote and my 880 for everything else [it's frustrating ]. It bugs me to no end actually. I really just want a freaking harmony that can do the Bluetooth commands, .

The Harmony One is like the 880 since no RF function of the 890 but has the touch screen of the 1000. It's more a cross between 880 / 1000.

Hmm, interesting, may look at it as an upgrade for my 880 then. That or whine until they get a bluetooth solution.

I own a number of Universal Remotes and the Harmony One is by far my favorite. I have the 880 and the One is much better. Buttons are laid out better and the touchscreen is awesome. When you combine the Harmony software and the new button layout, the One is the best remote for the money out there. I also own a Philips Pronto Professional, which is incredible, but the programming is tough for the average person. Just my thoughts.

Definitely a terrible design decision (from the end user's perspective).

Strangely, this is one of the major drawbacks from the ps3 for me. too many remotes as it is.

If you're having a lag issue with the 880, try going through the command learning process again, or adjust your input delay settings through the Harmony software.

I have the 880 working with the PS3, and I don't have any lag issues whatsoever. I used the NYKO Blu Wave PS3 remote dongle and commands to program my 880. It only took about 5 minutes to do successfully.

What is different about the Harmony One from the 880 that prevents it from using the PS3 workaround?

I just started a thread addressing the lag issue here...

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=35293

So what ms value did you set in order to eliminate the lag time?

This item works with my Harmony360 and PS3. Until Sony pull there heads out of the sand and releases a standard IR adapter, this one will work for now.
