If a small studio like this can do a 4K release then what's Criterion/Shout/Arrow's excuse?

Money on new blu-ray releases... then turning around and selling steelbooks... Then 4k. And we gobble em up because...

Can you imagine how many issues Shout UHD discs would have? They’d double the amount of replacement discs lmao

If Full Moon can do 4K, then I wish they would release some of the Surrender Cinema stuff even on Blu-ray. A lot of it was shot on 16mm film, and he appears to have been re-editing them for later DVD releases anyway, though I'm fairly certain from video masters and not the film elements.

Still, it's a shame that we'll probably never get any of those titles, even as all (or virtually all) of the horror films come out.

I’m gonna have to grab this, mainly because - believe it or not - it was written by S. Craig Zahler of Bone Tomahawk and Brawl in Cell Block 99 fame.

Huh? It's an official Puppet Master sequel he wrote, not a remake.

It’s not a sequel.

It’s its own separate entity from the franchise that Charles Band is still creating films for.

It's a "spin-off" story, but still a Puppet Master sequel.

"Reboot" or "Franchise" if that suits it better, but it's certainly no Remake of the original film.

http://puppet-master.wikia.com/wiki/...Littlest_Reich

"Although the film will be a reboot, it will act more as a standalone Sequel that will expand on the mythology and be set in modern times."

"Although labeled a Reboot and not being made within Full Moon, the film will serve more as a Standalone modern sequel."

I guess at this point we can expect pretty much anything to come out on UHD?

Hey, Shout has that stack of IMAX documentaries!

I'm a little surprised that none of those labels have dipped their toes in yet. You'd think they could mitigate the risk by packaging the UHD BD as part of a larger exclusive, like a steelbook or limited edition only sold through their own storefront or whatever.

Ah, bumped. Didn't see this thread the first time around. Looking forward to this.

...and yeah, if these guys can do it, the other guys can. Worth supporting just for that.

Wow Full Moon Puppet Master reboot will come in 4K? Now this is a shock since pretty much there older movies don't seem to get any upgrade to it least 4K Restoration assuming that a lot off them have been lost or damaged but would love to see Puppet Master serious some sort 4K upgrade or Trancer

And yeah if Full Moon can do it why hasn't Arrow or Shout Factory stepped up the game into making movies into 4K I wonder if this is because of cost or issues with the original studios the movies were made at same with Criterion and you would think Criterion by now would have gotten in to 4K UHD it least.

It is coming from Image, who's already released a few 4K UHD titles.
