Hot damn! About time. Was hoping the CJ Collection would release this, but just glad someone is putting this out.

I wonder if it'll be the theatrical or director's cut (personally, I prefer the former . . . vomit scenes really get gross after a while).

I also REALLY hope it doesn't have those terrible subs that the DVD had that read like a script.

Oh. My. God. Have to pinch myself. Release of the year for me, no doubt. Hopefully it will have both cuts. Man, after all these years... amazing.

I am very happy and excited that "My Sassy Girl" will finally have a South Korean Blu-ray release ! This movie has so much heart and I love the beautiful soundtrack and main song by "I Believe" by Shin Seung Hun 신승훈 ! Let's hope they throw in the CD soundtrack in the package.

Default Can't wait!

Finally! A Korean bluray release, though it has been available in Japan for several years on bluray in true HD (without English subtitles).

Hope it's the theatrical cut (like the Japanese bluray) because the director's cut added unnecessary material and changed the soundtrack for certain scenes.

Please make more copies NovaMedia (like 3000 copies). And announce the pre-order date 3 to 4 weeks early to give us time to allocate some money

We also need Windstruck and The Classic to get a bluray release.

For sure, I'm in. Price? Not important. It's still in my personal movie top 10 of all time.

Great! Have never seen the theatrical cut, director's cut is what I'm used to.

Default Director's cut?

Well, it seems the Korean bluray release will be the director's cut, which in my opinion is the inferior version.

Having seen both cuts, I feel the flow and pace of the theatrical cut was much better with better music choices. The director added scenes to certain parts of the film that I felt were unnecessary.

Though it's necessarily the same level as in "Cinema Paradiso" where the director's cut totally changed the ending.

Oh well, guess I'll be sticking with the Japanese bluray then.

You should let them know.

I haven't watched this in a while, and I think I have seen both, but the DVD release I got has the Director's Cut version.

What do the rest of you think: Theatrical vs. Director's Cut ?

As I said earlier... theatrical. The extra material is redundant and adds nothing, and the movie is long enough as it is.

In my opinion, the theatrical version is a lot better. The director's cut has about 15 minutes more of footage that doesn't really add much to the film while changing the music to various scenes (e.g. using "My Girl").

Apparently, the studio asked the director to make cuts to the film because it was over 2 hours long. The film turned out to be a success and the director's cut was released along with changes in the music at the director's request.

Though others like the director's cut more. To each their own.

That's interesting. I always assumed the shorter version used "I Believe" because of some rights issues (the only copy of the shorter version I have is the HK Edko DVD) - but this explanation makes more sense.

I guess I just thought of something about the director's cut I like more, then - the final song. "My Girl" is much more upbeat, and fits the end better.

Too bad they can't just do branching and include both cuts.
