Talk about Sony releasing a best of PS3 games in Japan. Titles mentioned that will be available for cheaper prices include: Resistance, FolksSoul, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Gundam: Target in Sight, and Ridge Racer 7. New prices set at 3,800 yen which converts approx. to $35. Link here

Probably $40 here, although I believe "best hits" type games for PS2 were $20. Would like to see $30-35 for those games, I don't have many early games because I got my PS3 about 6 months ago.

a Japan Retailer is listing 5 PS3 titles under the label of "Playstation 3 the Best" this could be the start of a Platinum range as seen previously on the PS2 and PSone and of course lower PlayStation 3 game prices

I prefer calling it greatest hits, platinum really makes it sound cheap and gaudy.

They are similar to the greatest hits of PS2 games but are 1000 yen more than the PS2 versions. The boxarts are ugly and unappealing.

Following early retail reports from over the weekend, Sony confirmed today that the PlayStation 3 will be getting a budget lineup in Japan shortly. The company also shared first box art for the re-releases, which you can view in the media section below.

Dont forget Japan. Ridge Racer and Gundam probably did a LOT better over there than here. The rest are pretty obvious. Although Folklore is easily the most recent game on that list, glad to hear it did so well.

I would expect heavenly sword, uncharted and R&C to be added in the not so distant future
