Australia Starstruck (1982) - Ever?

Does anyone have an idea why Gillian Armstrong's Starstruck has not been released? It was digitally restored several years ago by NFSA and last year was its 40th Anniversary. But it is still MIA.

Since Umbrella put out the DVD ages ago, I wonder if they still have any rights to it. It would fit in well with the Sunburnt Screens collection.

Do you think we will ever see it on Blu or should I just give up hope?

Hope I'm wrong but there could be issues which are out of Umbrellas control.

I heard one story that the only print left of the film is the American cut, not the Australian cut. Would be great if somebody could confirm if this is correct or not.

I’ve had my glittery Blue Underground DVD on perma-display for years. Here’s hoping for a miracle soon!

Kind of correct. The audio elements for the Australian cut are missing, so the NFSA restoration is based on the American cut. It might be that there's still hope of finding the missing material, hence no Blu so far.
