Default What games do you think need a remake?

I would love to see a remake of Half-Life, Silent Hill, and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

A remake of Half-Life, using today's graphics and technology, would be an amazing sight to behold. It would be much more lifelike and movie-like.

The same can be said for Silent Hill. The fog effects, atmosphere, creepy indoor dark buildings, etc, would be much enhanced using today's technology.

With Vice City, the reasons for a remake are fairly obvious, if you think about it. It would make it much more lifelike, it would add more content, all while preserving its retro 80's atmosphere.

If you think back on it... these 3 games... look like cartoons. So there would be a vast graphical difference. It would be cool to include these original games in their remakes release.

None.

There's a reason games of the past are so ingrained in our fondness and sense of nostalgia.

Updating them would take that away.

Silent Hill 1-3, Dino Crisis, Legend of Mana, Persona 1-3, Legend of Dragoon, Zelda: Link to the Past. Maybe Parasite Eve 1 and 2 if they remake it the way that Activision had done with Crash or Sypro. I'd love a remake of these games, but I don't know if they necessarily need them.

I am not a big fan of remakes, and would rather have straight graphical updates. The Ocarina of Time one was okay, since it didn't change too much and just fiddled with the Water temple. But I hated the Majora's Mask remake.

Soldier of Fortune...
still the only game i ever played with real damage effects. Sawed off shotty around a corner, blow the guys arm off. The arm is still holding the uzi, still firing...he craws over with his good arm and grabs the gun to shoot at you more. What more do you need? Oh and the hunting knife...you can chop a dead body down to organs LOL

Good choice. I loved this game. For some reason reading about SoF got me thinking about SHOGO and now I'm wishing my gaming PC wasn't in storage.

BattleTech: Cresent Hawk's Inception/Revenge - Keep the top-down view but completely redo the graphics. Add professional voice acting and cut-scenes.
Assassin's Creed 3 - Remove the 1,000 hour tutorial (at least that's what it felt like) and tighten up the rest of the game design to make it fun. This was the first A.C. game I ever tried and it was so awful it put me off the rest of the series and Ubisoft in general.
Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust - I enjoyed the game but the controls and camera were complete garbage. (I like politically incorrect humor)

I'm mostly with you here; I actually really like remakes of older games as long as they're done right, and to me that means modern graphics and sound, but nearly identical gameplay.

First parts of Resident Evil. With better graphics, they would be more atmospheric. And maybe an interesting sub-story should be added to make the plot unknown again.

I’d love to see the PS2 era GTA games get the GTAV engine remakes. But at the same time, I think i’d rather have a different GTA era/city. Silent Hill could be fun but I wouldn’t push for it. Same for Metal Gear/Metal Gear 2 or the PSP games.

If I were to have 1 request for old games, it would be to receive old school games in a legacy collection.
Castlevania Series on a pS4/x1 disc/Switch cart
Contra “”
Old Enix/Squaresoft games in collected editions. Many are just now getting home brew editions translated, but they go fast and many don’t have access to them.
Policenauts/Snatcher on a disc.
With those said, just give a good translation that isn’t censored and update the save system for x system and i’d Be grateful

Silent Hill
Silent Hill 2
RE3 Nemesis
Metal Gear Solid (or just remaster Twin Snakes….I know Konami doesn't do much in terms of games anymore. But Zone of the Enders 2 was remastered too, so....)
Blade Runner The Game (will never happen but one can dream)
Dino Crisis
Dino Crisis 2
Discworld 1
Discworld 2
Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Chrono Trigger
Mortal Kombat 1 - 3
Parasite Eve
Deadly Premonition (remake with the same story and characters, just better graphics and updated gameplay. Or just properly remaster the original)
