I made a blind buy of Madhouse, and it arrived in the mail last week. I haven't taken the time to watch it yet, but it looks like a strange and awesome movie from a great decade for horror.

I think you will like it. I watched it Friday nite and I was really surprised by how much I liked it. Movie was a lot of fun. Great image and sound quality on this disc, wasn't expecting a movie like this to look this great. I can't recommend it enough!

This film is almost unclassifiable. It comes closest to being a slasher film because of the tropes but it could also be a psychological thriller, character study or a even a giallo. I thought it was good enough for an HD upgrade but I suspect most people might be happy with their DVD copies. I tried to list my copy but I won't get more than a couple of bucks for it so I threw it into a box.

Got the UK release. It is a really good movie and I agree, it's almost a slasher. Sections of it definitely are. The pq was stunning all things considered.

I agree it isn't 100% slasher but yeah it is a little of everything, and yeah giallo touches also.

I think the lead actress was really great in it, and according to the commentary track from The Hysteria Continues this may have been her only film credit, surprisingly.

Yes it's a slasher.

I am a big fan of it, but it's hit and miss with 50/50 of viewers.

This movie has such a strange vibe, I don't know if I was fully prepared for that the first time I watched it. However, I found that I enjoyed it a lot more on my second viewing.

Arrow's remaster looks fantastic.
