Surprised a thread hasn't been created yet, unless I missed it with the search function. Game looks amazing, although I don't really like the sound of the live action tv show thing.
![]() We’re excited to announce that Remedy will be presenting the first ever live demo of Quantum Break’s time-amplified gameplay at Gamescom in August. Launching in 2015, Quantum Break will deliver an unprecedented fusion of cinematic gameplay and high-quality, live-action storytelling – exclusively on Xbox One. Quantum Break won't arrive on Xbox One before 2015, and don't expect any new gameplay to be shown off at E3 either. That's according to developer Remedy Entertainment's Sam Lake, who revealed fresh details about the game in a new video, and also promised we'd see more of the title at Gamescom in August. "We are working hard to bring you an entertainment experience like no other," he said. "Quantum break will be out in 2015. I’m very excited to tell you that we’ll be presenting Quantum Break’s time-amplified action gameplay for the first time ever in August at Gamescom." Elsewhere in the video, Lake explained how the upcoming cinematic action game would interact with the live action show that's also planned. "The game is about heroes, the show is about villains," he revealed. "In the game you play Jack Choice in a desperate fight to stop the fracture, that threatens to cause the end of time. In the show, in the style of a modern TV series you follow the schemes and power play inside Monarch – the corporation that’s Jack’s main enemy." I love AW, and Remedy, so this is a Day One purchase for me on the Xbone. I am a little nervous as to the game versus live action portion, but trust Remedy to steer clear of the gimmicky side of gaming.
Could be very cool. We shall see when it hits sometime in 2027 |

Pretty cool stuff, especially once it got to the bridge fight. That said, the time freeze stuff had a very similar style to what they did in Alan Wake with the creatures in the darkness. Not a knock on it... Just something that stood out. Kinda' digging the gameplay mechanics they showed off. Still... I'm left wondering about this live action TV integration stuff they hyped.

Its a shame - talk about missed opportunities.
Things like this and the possible Deadlands TV series felt like one of the real differentiations for XBO. With the Entertainment division gutting, what felt like a vision now seems like some odds and ends experimentation (like Wonderbook). It still feels ironic to me that Sony may get original TV content out before MS with Powers when MS was the one to talk it up as part of the vision two years ago. Things like QB are the kinds of things that could have pushed me to getting an XBO in addition to my PS4, but I won't do it for one game. Had they doubled down and done a QB TV show at least at the quality of Defiance or Dominion and possibly worked with Pinnacle to get the rights to a Deadlands video game so they did a game and show - I think MS had a really good opportunity to put a differentiator out there. It would be nice to hear some more about the TV part on this since that seemed so unique. |

The live action stuff isn't cancelled... It's on the disc. Sam Lake is still talking about it as if it were an inclusive part of the game. See:
