Batman and Bond
Lewis Wilson, the first ever actor to play Batman on screen, was the father of Michael G. Wilson, who now runs the James Bond series with his half-sister Barbara Broccoli. Adam West was once apparently considered for Bond the first time Sean Connery stepped away but West thought Bond should be played only by British actors. Pierce Brosnan was one of the actors considered for Batman back in the '80s before the role went to Michael Keaton. Christopher Nolan was partly influenced by On Her Majesty's Secret Service when he was co-writing Batman Begins. Nolan's name has kept coming up through the years as a possible Bond director one day. Jeffrey Wright, who played Felix Leiter in Daniel Craig's Bond movies, played Jim Gordon in The Batman. Can anybody else think of two major franchises that have several connections with each other like that? |
