Has anyone who preordered this BD received it yet? I preordered it on 24/8/12 and it was due to be released on 25/9/12 but the status on my order at Amazon says 'Not Yet Shipped' and 'Usually Ships Within 4 to 6 Weeks'. Did Amazon not receive any stock or was it delayed or cancelled?

As far as I know, it hasn't come out. This is a Media Blasters title. They never release anything on time. Let me rehash because I don't want to get too long winded:

Versus - 10 months.

Ichi the Killer - Almost two years.

Machine Girl - 8 months

Destroy All Monsters - Two weeks

Godzilla Vs Megalon - Never came out on Blu-ray. Original release date was November 22nd, 2011.

The list goes on and on.

Oh OK. I'm not sure if reassured is the appropriate word to describe how I feel but its sort of reassuring to know it hasn't been cancelled and will probably come out at an arbitrary date in the future.

Best Buy shows that it came out yesterday, but it's back ordered. Allegro, which does the distribution for Media Blasters states the 25th, but it's back ordered. Media Blasters always does this. Check some threads out on some other Media Blasters titles, the frustration and rage is all there, man.

I read somewhere last week that they were having trouble getting the Troma DVD commentary to work, but it has since been fixed and going to duplication in about a week or two (that was a week ago).

I am very familiar with them. I've had this on preorder since March and it was meant to come out on 28/8/12:

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Bakuman-Blu-ray/40063/

It keeps getting pushed back and they refuse to address if it has been cancelled or even why it has been delayed on their Facebook page, despite frequent comments on their wall. I should have suspected this but I never thought to check if they were the company behind it.

Thats interesting to know. I guess I'll cut them some slack because at least they are trying.

If you keep calling them out, they'll ban you. They did it to me when I caught wind of Destroy All Monsters getting delayed. It was two days before the release and I noticed the release date changed on Allegro's and everyone is giving Media Blasters that circle jerk praise for getting a Godzilla film and I said; "IT IS DELAYED!" And I went on an all out rant on how they never stick to release dates. Even a writer from a certain website tried to call me out on here for bashing Media Blasters.

Media Blasters have some serious communication problems. I've seen them get extremely defensive too when people have fairly criticised them. It doesn't surprise me that they erase comments that do not fit in with the image they are trying to present rather then publicly address the issue. It seems like they don't respect the people who buy their products unless they are receiving circle jerk praise.

I checked out the MGMHD showing of this and was really suprised by the transfer. For a 16mm film blown up to 35, it looks suprisingly good.
Especially when one takes into account the film was made for 25 cents.

Look forward to checking out the BD.

There's no guarantee it'll be the same transfer. MB didn't even know back when I asked in August or September. They said all they knew was Sam Sherman gave them the master to use and had no idea if it was the same as MGM's.

Yeah I was afraid that might be the case. Hopefully it is the same one.

That's what it seriously is over on that Facebook page. There was a Facebook page that was created as an Anti-Media Blasters page and people who I know honestly thought I was the one who created it. I was like; "I joined, but I am not going to go out of my way to bash these SOB's." And for bashing them, I'd get comments thrown back at my way like; "Well, be happy that we're at least getting it on Blu-ray!" That's all good and fun and all, but, there's no integrity and accountability for their actions. A title will get delayed or cancelled and you don't get an explanation why and you say; "Be happy that I am getting it"?

They had two Italian flicks that I was interested in getting; Zombi 4: After Death and Emanuelle and the Last Cannibals; cancelled without reason. And, of course, the Blu-ray for Godzilla Vs Megalon was cancelled. I knew that once they announced that they got their hands on some Godzilla titles, we were all going to be in for it. I luckily got my copy of Destroy All Monsters for about $20 back at Christmas time and look at how much copies are going for now since they it's OOP. A title should not go OOP that fast; Media Blasters is not Twilight Time, here.

And with all the bashing that Echo Bridge gets; and to a degree, I can agree and disagree with some of the crap they get, but Media Blasters is worse. They are a million time worse. Media Blasters will charge you $20 for a horrible upscaled transfer for Ichi the Killer whereas Echo Bridge will charge $8 for a quadruple feature Jackie Chan set where they're cropped from 2.35 to 1.78 and are the English edits. Which do you think I'll honestly take here? I'll go for the Jackie Chan set.

I just watched for the first time this morning. Pure cheesy gold. I mean it even has a musical number in the beginning. Lon Chaney JR's performance, damn. I guess it matched everyone else. It's a lot of fun.

My Amazon order is cancelled. It doesn't look like this will be released on BD then.

I had 3 different titles get cancelled, including this one. Guess Amazon got tired of waiting.

I don't hold my breath for MB. I figure I'll add 6 months to each release date they announce.

Media Blasters is a mess of a distributor. I think they announce titles to gauge interest in them. If there aren't enough pre-orders on places like Amazon for a particular movie, they simply pull the plug.

Surprise, a MB title is delayed. But with the current health of MB, we might not ever see it.

I'm still waiting for my Godzilla vs. Megalon Blu-ray that was supposed to be out almost a year ago.
