For anyone that missed the limited run this is one of the best Vietnam war films ever made.

With all the companies MGM licenses out to they have absolutely no business besmirching themselves with BD-R drops. I thought we made it clear as buyers half a decade ago this isn’t a good thing

Curious if this is going to be a BD-R based upon that art. It seems like the other MGM titles being released at the same time are not?

I don't like burned discs either, but having the backup option makes it a bit better.

I don't know if we've gotten any confirmation that these MGM MOD's are BD-R's. We have one example, The Playboys, which was confirmed to be pressed. It would be odd for them to press some and burn others.

I assume that MGM will use the same transfer that was used for the Scorpion Releasing release a few years back. It's a really underrated movie and it's pretty incredible that they were able to get Burt Lancaster for such a low budget production.

I don't understand-- why is a BD-R assumed with this release?

I'm kind of surprised that MGM is releasing it, as it's an old, overlooked movie that didn't make money at the box office as far as I know. I'm not complaining, as it's a good movie and deserves to be seen by more people.

People just need to keep their expectations in check if they've never seen it before, as this is a low budget Vietnam movie. So, if they are expecting a big budget Vietnam movie like "Platoon", then they may well be disappointed.

The fake Blu-Ray logo up top on the case is usually a sign that it will be, BD-Rs aren’t really allowed to use the official logo
