Default The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986) (Collector's Edition)

Release date: April 19

Quote:
**Street date & new art reveal for THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2**

Hot on the heels of our recent updates for Wes Craven and John Carpenter films we bring you news on another legendary horror Director: Tobe Hooper. His wild, gory and truly off-the-wall sequel THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 will be landing on a 2-Disc Blu-ray “Collector’s Edition” on April 19th. New extras are still in progress and will be announced in full at a later date.

With this official street date also comes the reveal of our newly-designed key art which was illustrated by the very talented Joel Robinson (Nightbreed, The Serpent and the Rainbow, Ginger Snaps). If you order directly through at https://www.shoutfactory.com/…/the-t...saw-massacre-…
you’ll also receive this on a FREE limited-edition 18” x 24” poster with purchase and while supplies last.

Purists of all things retro take note: The original theatrical key art - the classic “Breakfast Club” poster art - will be on the reverse wrap of the packaging.)

Even with the bargain bin $5 Fox blu-ray here in the US, it's loaded with extras. Multiple commentaries, 90 minute retrospective, deleted workprint scenes, etc.

Scream had better come up with something really special for the extras (like a film source for the deleted scenes), otherwise this release is about as superfluous as it gets.

I'm fine with my MGM release. Enough with these rereleases.

I'm a big scream factory fan but I already have the previous release and won't be double dipping. I'm actually disappointed that they chose this as their Halloween announcement and not something that doesn't already have a bluray release. They need to stop the rereleases because more often than not the PQ is not superior.

This release better be packed with great extras to get me to double dip again on TCM 2. It was one of my favorite movies growing up but you can already get the MGM/Fox Gruesome Edition dirt cheap now so not to desperate to pay Shout's high prices even if they promise that it would be a new high quality transfer of the movie.

Maybe if they used this artwork.

agreed this would have to be a pretty special release in order for me to double-dip. i blind-bought it last year dirt cheap after i got the 40th anniversary of the original. i definitely enjoy its zaniness and totally appreciate it for what it is, but i can't imagine paying the price for some new features that aren't "must-have" ... on the other hand, if money were no object, i'd buy it just for that "Breakfast Club" reversible cover, which they've indicated will be used for the release...

They stated on the comments that they are using that for the inner art.

Still haven't added the Arrow box-set to my collection so I guess I will keep an eye on the S.F. release. Unless a great price comes along for the Arrow edition between now and then that is.

I'll pick this up if Scream Factory Partners with 1428 Films (Never Sleep Again, Crystal Lake Memories) and put together a comprehensive Texas Chainsaw Massacre Franchise 6+ hour Documentary and it's included in the package. As it stands unless this release turns out to be 4k Sourced and freaking Amazing... I'll Pass.

I'm sure someone has made custom art already for the MGM disc with that art.

It's already super cheap, but it'll be even cheaper during the next Arrow sale (plus free shipping for single item orders). It can't be beat, especially since it also comes with two early Hooper films & a 100 page book as bonuses.
