I watched this once, maybe twice when I was younger. Not sure I want to ever revisit it. Very good movie, but just really depressing.

It has been 4K on digital for years now, although not with DV/HDR. I'm glad the new transfer is finally on disc.

It's not a bad movie, but fairly dramatic indeed. Definitely glad it's coming out, but I do wonder if it's another one of those MOD ''stay in the US'' only titles.

Wasn't this one a ''Mastered for 4K'' title, by the way? As in the 4K master is not new/fresh.

Yeah, probably a MOD release. I think nearly everything that Sony releases on 4K that isn't a big box set or a Steelbook has been a MOD release for several months now.

Spoilers for this 35 year old movie, but...

I'm fine during the bee scene, still good through "he can't see without his glasses"...

...but the scene where they run into his mom later, and Vada tells her that he'll be okay because her mom will look after him:

...then I pretty much ugly sob through the "Weeping Willow" poem. Every. Single. Time.
