PS3 & Netflix - Blu-ray Forum

Will you ever be able to stream from netflix to the PS3 like you can do with the computer? Or can you already with some fix?

I have asked this before. I have also seen threads on this on the PS3 forums. Supposedly, Netflix is working on a fix that will allow for streaming movies on the PS3. But, most of the threads are November, December time frame and I haven't seen any new information since. Plus, don't call Netflix to ask, they don't know anything about it.

They seem to be expanding support to Mac, so a lot of people are hoping this means PS3 as well. There were originally some rumors running around.

I'm definitely hoping this is true, because ever since Netflix started the unlimited instant viewing...I've been watching a lot of The Office...

i dont think it will ever work on ps3 last i heard LG is releasing a set top box due sometime second quarter this year to stream netflix video. Im sure they are probably going to work on some type of exclusivity aswell. Your next best bet would be a home theater pc or sling medias sling catcher due out soon may work with netflix.

Wrong!!

Netflix said that this would be an open platform so that they could "partner" with other companies such as sony.

They want to have more then an LG box.

Last time I looked, Netflix required the following to stream videos directly from their service:

Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or higher, or Windows Vista
Internet Explorer version 6 or higher
Windows Media Player version 11 (DRM version 5145) or later
An active broadband connection to the Internet active broadband (active broadband Internet connection of at least 1.5 Mbps recommended)
1.0 GHz processor (1.5 GHz processor recommended)
512 MB RAM (1 GB RAM recommended)
3 GB free hard disk drive space

I know that it doesn't work even when using Tversity, but what about WMP11?

Netflix is a DRM protected service, but maybe WMP supports the DRM?
