I really hope this is a legit remake, and not some crappy open world “re-imagining” of what splinter cell is, complete with outposts, barren wilderness, and other classic Ubi junk. The only game Ubisoft has done that strays from their normal formula lately is prince of persia remake and uh… that’s disappeared.

I feel like i never got to experience Splinter Cell at all originally but if they can do a remake in the complete vein of the original and not having it take place in an open world almost typical of all Ubisoft games these days, i think it would be a great addition to the Hitman esque games focused on stealth action.

Why not just make a new SC game that feels and plays like the first couple of games?

Hopefully this new Ubisoft Splinter Cell is fully open world, with sky diving, swimming, boating, jets, cars, motorcycles, and varied terrains to explore while sneaking around or going in guns blazing,
[Show spoiler]because just kidding!
But I do hope they keep faithful to the original games that focused on stealth tactics and technology to defeat your enemies and infiltrate locations.

I didn't play much of the originals but a LOT of conviction which was fantastic. I then went and tried to play 1 and double agent and it felt very antiquated to how conviction was.

I'd still say Conviction 1/2 are very playable.

I would assume people were intelligent enough to know Conviction 1/2 implied the first and sequel but clearly I set the bar too high

I'm hoping for the best because these games are always fun. My main issue with Splinter Cell games comes down to stealth which is a main aspect of the game. I start out fine but usually end up running around guns blazing before the mission is over. It usually takes me several tries to complete missions because of this.

You consider Blacklist to be Conviction 2? They are very different games.
