![]() 2 years ago, we came together...
to vote on our favorite comic-book films. Now we return to do it again... because we have nothing better to do. The 2022 Blu-ray Community Top 25 Comic-Book Based Films Of All Time List ![]() What qualifies? We're keeping this list restricted to films that are BASED on comic-books/graphic novels. Films that contain superheroes but are not based on comic-books/graphic novels are NOT allowed, i.e. The Incredibles or Unbreakable. Animated films are absolutely allowed, but the film must've had a theatrical release, like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. If it did not have a theatrical release, it does not qualify. So, all of the direct-to-video DC animated films are invalid options. If the film you would like to include is based on a Manga, I understand it may not have had a US theatrical release. Therefore I will allow it as long as it was released theatrically in its country of origin, but the theatrical release rule stands. Films based on comic strips are also allowed. As always if you're unsure whether or not your film qualifies you can ask, but hopefully these ground rules keeps things simple. I also will not distinguish between multiple cuts of a film. If one person votes for Batman v Superman: Ultimate Cut and another person votes for Batman v Superman: Theatrical Cut, in the end I will lump both under BvS. As a notable exception, Zack Snyder's Justice League will be allowed in the voting due to it having a theatrical release for charity in three major cities, and due to it being a wholly different endeavor than the original 2017 film. (...and also because I know y'all would have my head if I didn't allow it) List Rules 1) Simply list your top 20 - 25 films favorite comic book films of all time in descending order. The higher up the film is the more points it will receive: 1. 25 Points 2. 19 Points 3. 18 Points 4. 17 Points 5. 16 Points ................ 16. 5 Points 17. 4 Points 18. 3 Points 19. 2 Points 20. 1 Point ................ 21. 1 Point 22. 1 Point 23. 1 Point 24. 1 Point 25. 1 Point The top film of each list gets a little extra boost like before. Also continuing what thewerepuppygrr started, you have the option of the additional slots numbering 21 - 25 which will all receive 1 point each and will hopefully avoid tie breakers. If you can't think of 5 extra films worth mentioning then don't worry, the minimum amount of submission is 20 films. The 5 extra entries are simply for people who wish to give a little more love to other films. If your list is not numerically marked I will simply look at the first film listed and work my down as indicated above. Any list labeled "not ranked" or "in no particular order" will NOT be counted towards the community list, and you will be asked to revise it. 2) Like mentioned above, the minimum amount of films you must list for your post to count is 20. If you can't list 20 comic-book based films, all of the films on your list will only receive 1 point each towards the total. 3) Please only make one list. You are free to update and change your original post as often as you'd like until the deadline. If you re-post your list twice or more I'll message you to remove them. 4) You're welcome to add a short review of your film choices; in an attempt to personalize the list as a whole, members can post a short bit of prose about their choice. This can range from a simple short sentence to a short paragraph. If you'd like to reuse something you've previously written you are free to do so. This is not compulsory and you can write these short pieces on however many of your choices you want even if it's only for your first pick. However, the more input the better and some review quotes will be sampled for the final community list. 5) The DEADLINE is set for: Friday, October 14th, 2022 EOD (End-Of-Day). |
