Default Hellraiser 2 (Sequel to the Reboot)

‘Hellraiser 2’? Producer Updates on the Sequel to the Hulu Reboot

Quote:
Two years ago, director David Bruckner had such sights to show us with Hellraiser, a direct-to-Hulu horror movie that reimagined Clive Barker’s iconic horror franchise. The film debuted on Hulu in October 2022, starring Jamie Clayton as a brand new Hell Priest.

Was Bruckner’s Hellraiser a success for Hulu? And will we be getting more new installments in the film franchise? According to producer Keith Levine, Hellraiser 2 is indeed in the works!

Levine tells ComicBook.com in a brand new chat, “We are trying to do a follow-up and there have been conversations. I can’t exactly say where we’re at in those conversations, but [David] Bruckner is involved in those conversations.”

“We spent a lot of time and energy relaunching that world,” Levine continues. “A lot of brainpower going into crafting the Cenobite design, figuring out how we’re going to pull them off, and we learned so much. And I think moving forward, we love that all that knowledge is sort of banked and that time has been spent. So we think that moving forward and going into another movie is just going to be even crazier and even more awesome. So yeah, that’s something we’re definitely hard at work on, and hope we will have more news soon.”

He adds, “[We’re] excited to tell more stories in the world.”

If it ever happens I'll be interested to see what they do with it. I wouldn't hate it if they gave us a whole new set of Cenobites and a different Pinhead, but it sounds like since they put so much "brainpower" into the designs we already saw, they're just gonna give us more of the same.

It'll be nice to have a couple more of these films considering I love the concept and haven't been excited for anything regarding "Hellraiser" since the 5th film pretty much. Even though I didn't love the remake it'd still be nice if it got a physical release stateside. We know they're not totally against it considering they gave "Prey" one.

I liked Hellraiser (2022) despite it being a bit boiler plate, and it was well made, but I'd really love to see one more outing for Doug Bradley before it's too late if I'm being completely honest.

Oh, who wouldn't? Like Karloff & "Frankenstein", Robert Englund & "Freddy Krueger" and Anthony Perkins & "Norman Bates", Doug Bradley IS "Pinhead" to the fans. I believe he recently stated somewhere that he'd also like to have one more appearance under the make-up.

There was a "Child's Play" remake while Universal was doing other things with the franchise and I'm sure there's been other examples. It'd be great if stars aligned and Clive was given one more opportunity to direct Doug back in the role before it's too late.

I really dig the last one. I would also like a 4K UHD release. Also, throw in all of the other sequels that don't have 4K releases. I loves me some Deader.

Joking aside, yeah I think all the Doug Bradley entries deserve their own proper blu-ray release. I could see Shout! doing a parts 5-8 box set or something if they could get their hands on 'em. If they came with bonus materials I'd definitely be interested in that.

"We are trying to do a follow-up and there have been conversations." That doesn't sound super promising tbh.

I loved the new one. Hope we do get a sequel and they need to be released in Blu-ray.

Hopefully it will follow in the footsteps of the second film and the two will be one complete story. But beyond that I don't expect anything good from a third one.

Considering that the first one was an original story, as opposed to a female of the original or adaptation of the book, perhaps this would be an opponent to adapt The Hellbound Heart as it's sequel? It would be interesting to have an opportunity to adapt is closer to the book, and would not need to bring back any of the bland characters from the first film.
I'd like it to be set in the UK as well, as it was supposed to be. Studio tinkering left the original in some bizarre UsA/UK hybridland after all.

Apparently it wasn't, or else we wouldn't be getting a sequel.

It wasn't but maybe your standards will get better over time but film the looks of it .... probably not.

It's so pathetic someone could get so defensive over another person's opinion lol.

how do you even determine if a streaming movie is a hit? it doesn’t really generate revenue. it you already have the service, then you see it on the front page. but how many people signed up for it, not at a free preview, and then kept it for three months?

you can’t even quantify it that way. because people sign up for the service for a lot of different reasons.

this is hellraiser. it’s not like we haven’t had ashcan copies before to hold on to copyright.
