France Pirates of the Caribbean 1-5 4K + Blu-Ray steelbook boxed set (FNAC)

Listed on FNAC for March 17, 2023 release, roughly 80 euros shipped to the US.

https://www.fnac.com/a17674206/Coffr...in=Awin1059741

Placeholder art on FNAC doesn't clarify whether it is a single steelbook with all 5 movies or 5 steelbooks, but per a different source it is a boxed set of 5 individual steelbooks. I do NOT know whether this source is authoritative or not:

https://findmysteelbook.fr/%F0%9F%8E...bKrQfQowk1fJKE

Yes the 4K transfers are utter poo for the most part, but I figure it might be of interest to the steelbook collector. I'm pretty sure the only other way to get the (non-steelbook) 4K set of 1-5 is out of Australia.

They did 4ks for 2-4 in the same style as 1.
How do you screw up on the transfers that bad for the same reasons as the first one?

Such a shame they put zero effort into the transfers. I personally won't be buying any of them until they're all remastered.

Hopefully the transfers for the first four are much better. I wish the UK would get this box set.

Candidly, I wouldn't get my hopes up that the transfers are any different from what we have already seen.

Thanks for that. Based upon the listing on Amazon Japan, it doesn't appear to necessarily be a steelbook set. So the image above may not be representative of what is being released in March 2023.

The second image below *could* be a steelbook set, but it's clearly an artist's rendering, not actual.

https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/%E3%82.../dp/B09LR8NP6H

Hopefully non-placeholder images are to come on FNAC.

Who cares? It'll also make sense since the first Pirates is 20 years old this year.

It's just a stock photo right now. The listing is clearly for a 4K steelbook set. The other photo is of the Japanese digipack set.

Not 100% acccurate. The listing on FNAC could be a set of 4k steelbooks, or all of the movies in a single steelbook. That aspect is unclear from the listing.

It'll be the same transfers. 1-4 already got released in France, Benelux etc, so they'll be repackagings of the same discs.

Still, I hope this box set comes out in the UK, because I don't wanna import it for different currency.

I never would have guessed "DISNEY" made these movies if they hadn't splashed their name so big on the spine.

I wonder if these steelbooks will get Best Buy exclusives in the US with new transfers.

Bob I has a lot more problems on his hand than caring for new POTC transfers

The render makes me think of the recent Resident Evil and Underworld collection sets with their own separate digipacks in a fancy box.

Updated image at FNAC. It is indeed 5 individual steelbooks. No art yet on the individual steelbooks.

Been waiting and wanting a 4k steelbook set for Pirates of the Caribbean but might have to pass on these if the titles on the spines and cover are in French.

Hopefully Best Buy gets these in the US.

easy pass, the first one is the only decent film and that 4k is apparently unwatchable.
