This one has been on the top of my Blu ray wish list for a long time.

Who else is a fan of the movie?

Considering Paramount recently released Popeye, I would say there's hope.

It's streamed in HD for years and looks pretty nice. I would say that now Paramount is releasing discs again, there's a decent shot for it.

Yeah if Paramount released Popeye, then there is hope.

I would love a special edition with a ton of special features. But at this point I would buy a bare bones release.

Do you remember how old you where when you first saw it?

I am sure if this one does make it to blu-ray it will more then likely not get special features. Though I do think it deserves special features along with many other movies that only get a bare bones release.

I saw it as a double feature with Raiders of the lost ark. I was in 6th grade.

I still have a betamax tape of this movie my parents recorded off TV in the early 80s, one of the oldest ones they did I still have (oldest - a recording of the Rankin-Bass Return of the King that aired on ABC in 1983). Kinda surprised it hasnt gotten a blu.

I am not surprised Dragonslayer hasn't gotten a blu-ray release but I am still hopeful. Though I am surprised none of the Rankin Bass Hobbit/LotR movies haven't gotten a release yet.

And what we did get on DVD was terrible, especially for the Hobbit - tons of missing sound effects. Glad I still have my Betamax copy from the 1980s.
