Blu-ray player taking a greasy dump on discs

Has this happened to you? It has to me on several players. My new player was doing well until I realized the last 3 discs I played (especially the most recent) got oil spatter on them, all likely from somewhere in the player. Sometimes it’s just tiny spots that smear when you microfiber wipe them, and the last disc I played went from spotless to full lines of grease in several spots. I’m trying/hoping to clear it up by running through playing/ffwd a disc over and over until it hopefully subsides (and it seems to), but I don’t trust the player not to pop off on my discs anymore.
