USA Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989) - February 11, 2014 - Limited to 3,000 copies

Pre-order http://www3.screenarchives.com/title...EMEANORS-1989/

Quote:
"Potent drama, uproarious comedy, one of Woody's best!" -Blockbuster Entertainment Guide

"Poignant, penetrating [and] scathingly hilarious" (Long Beach Press Telegram), Crimes and Misdemeanors is a deftly rendered tale about the complexity of human choices and the moral microcosms they represent. Showcasing Allen's brilliant grasp of the link between the funny and the fatal, his 19th movie, Crimes and Misdemeanors, is "one of the watershed films of his career" (Los Angeles Times).

Cliff Stern (Woody Allen) is an idealistic filmmaker... until he's offered a lucrative job shooting a flattering profile of a pompous TV producer (Alan Alda). Judah Rosenthal (Martin Landau) is the pillar of his community... until he learns that his ex-mistress (Anjelica Huston) plans to expose his financial and extramarital misdeeds. As Cliff chooses between integrity and selling out, and Judah decides between the counsel of his rabbi (Sam Waterson) and the murderous advice of his mobster brother (Jerry Orbach), each man must examine his own morality, and make an irrevocable decision - that will change everyone's lives forever.

OMG!! I'm stoked!

I might have preferred MGM doing a barebones low-cost release of this but hell yeah, I MUST have the film anyhow!

At least they gave us lots of time to put some money aside
Another plus side to this is that it also means we'll be getting more than just two of Woody's films on blu ray a year now.

I'm so excited and slightly disappointed.

Hopefully this still means MGM is releasing some new Woody Allen in the new year.

Cool. I was expecting MGM to put this and Bananas out at the same time, but I'm in.

Is this where the rest of the Woody Allen MGM collection is headed?

Theres actually been some speculation that Criterion might have the rights to Take The Money And Run, hopefully they have at least a couple more too.

Well, this is my favorite Woody Allen movie, and I'm pretty sure this is gonna sold out quick (Horror films can't be the only films Twlight Time quickly exhaust their shipping run) so I should put cash in this.

Any news on when's the pre-order date?

I love the movie but I think this title will take forever to sell out.

One can never be too careful. These TT sets are limited for a reason, and I don't want to wake up knowing that I missed my window (like I did with Christine and Body Double).

I wish MGM/Fox would release this as it would be a $14.99 release.

I'm going to bite the bullet on this one.

Well that would be awesome to have them all on Blu, but having to pay $30 for each would not be ideal. But if it's not have them, or have them at $30 each, I'm choosing the latter.

I guess I can get the WA films that are already on blu-ray since there won't ever be a blu box set now.

I was hoping Criterion had gotten this since Criterion already released it on LD it would have been nice to have them upgrade it to Blu-ray, even if it was a slightly bare bones affair

Ugh. This is a tad over my price point for this movie. Thanks anyways, Twilight Time.

Seriously? Even Woody Allen films are now being relegated to Twilight Time?

Well, I'll pick it up because I love Woody Allen and this is a great film, but I wish more of his works were being released directly by MGM.
