Finally! I remember Bill Condon talking about doing one even before the Collider interview. I think Dreamgirls is a strong film as is, but my one nitpick with it was always that the pacing felt rushed even at 2 hours. The extra 20 minutes should do it some good and let the material breathe.

I never got the original BD release (I've only had it on DVD all these years and kept meaning to upgrade). Hopefully this includes all the supplements. If not, I'll buy both this one and the original 2-disc release and put them all in the Director's Cut's case.

Now I wonder if we're going to get a Beauty and the Beast extended cut in 10 years...

considering the stage version is two and half hours, I'd think with the restored scenes, the pacing would flow better.

I bought the original release that is OOP for like 4 bucks. I liked the movie well enough, but I'm not sure it will be worth it to buy a new edition.
