I'll definitely pick this up as I've been eyeing the original 2-movie set for quite awhile...just didn't buy it because it was missing the last film. Glad I waited.

This is the first I’ve heard of this. Are they better? Do you prefer them to the TC or is it just fun to see the extra footage?

Yeah...coz the American accent is the #1 English speaking accent. I used to live in America and couldn't believe how a small percentage of American's couldn't understand another English speaking accent outside of their own.🙄

I speak and Understand the English language perfectly but I have a tough time understanding Southern US accents sometimes. That guy from the DEAD PIT podcasts who hails from Kentucky is particularly hard to make out. I always end up bowing out after a few minutes lol.

I know places like Amazon never charge MSRP but $39.99 is still pretty steep. Supposing it'll be $29.99 on street date, or even less, it's still too high for essentially one movie without extras. Anybody who is a Croc Dundee fan already owns the old double feature disc.

Mad Max had a US English dub for it’s initial theatrical run and subsequent home video releases.

Trainspotting had the first 15 to 20 minutes redubbed for Miramax by the Weinsteins. Funny enough, only Ewan McGregor remembers this.

And countless UK films released from the 1960s to the mid 1990s had US trailers that only had voiceovers, leaving audiences to discover the accents when seeing the whole film. Edgar Wright’s “Don’t” fake trailer for Grindhouse pays tribute to this.

In response to the discussion of the differences in the Australian vs US versions the reason why the US version was dubbed over was censorship issues. One scene in particular was the scene with the pimp, you can still see that he says f**k but it's dubbed over. Also the opening sequence of the first film is different.

Here is a side by side of the intro

Here is a comparison of the censorship differences in the first film https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=172550

and the second https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=521531

I have both the US and Australian dvds, but I wont ever buy the films again until there is a proper uncut set released because I prefer the uncut versions.

Default Just wish they would have put out part 3 alone

I already bought one and two in the combo set, I want to have 3, but seems like a waste to spend this much on two movies I have already just to get the 3rd one.

Question

I've always been a HUGE fan of the first two Dundee movies, but not so much the third one.

Having said that, I really can't see paying well over $30 for the trilogy, with the first two movies now being as old as they are, and especially if these aren't going to be given any deluxe treatment, such as extended, original cuts, and if the special features are't loaded either.

I suppose though if your patient, given time these will surface on Ebay for alot less - New, or used.

The third movie is the weakest of the trilogy, but it's even a great comedy, very fun and kinda nostalgic in its own way. I love it.

I always thought the first two films sort of complement each other and should be viewed as a single film. Chapters 1 and 2, if you will. The third film was an obvious cash-in but if it had been made not too long after the last one maybe it could've worked better.

I may skip this. Already own 1 and 2.

I'll wait for it to drop in price, I already have the first two on BD, and not desperate for the third (though the completist in me hates the idea).
