Described as an homage to the 1970’s sexual-thriller, “ Compulsion tells the story of Sadie (Analeigh Tipton), a budding erotic novelist, is enticed by an ex-lover to join him and an enigmatic woman named Francesca at an Italian Villa. Once there, Sadie is confronted by the demons of her past as she becomes embroiled in a surreal game of murder and betrayal.”

Ketchup Entertainment will be releasing the film here in the States on March 6, 2018, while it will open in Germany through Splendid on Feb. 23, Japan (Klockworx) on March 6, and in the UK (Kaleidoscope) on Feb. 6. It will also arrive in Scandinavia, Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and Australia/NZ on March 15.

Looks like it has potential. Also looks like someone's seen Eyes Wide Shut a few times.

But yeah, could be fun if they have the right mood and play around with the audience. Something like this could either end up being really fun or a total, unmitigated disaster. I don't think there's much middle ground.

This came out yesterday on DVD here in the UK. I'll probably pick it up soon and report back with a mini review.

Used some Amazon credit and rented this, just finished it. I'd describe it as a Kubrickian erotic thriller with a hint of Lisa and the Devil. With that said, it's not very good. There are moments of brilliance, the acting is decent and the cinematography in the first 30 minutes is fantastic, but after a while it all starts becoming repetitive and the story is non-existent, so that doesn't help. Definitely a style over substance project. Those with a prurient interest in the film will be happy to know

Do you know if you saw the 84 minute cut (which is what I see is on Amazon Prime right now, where I just watched it) or the longer 95 minute cut that is on the German blu-ray, where the title has changed to "Sadie"?

I enjoyed the scenery, the setting, and the ladies. I like 70's Euro-sleaze/horror, and this was like a modern Jess Franco or Jean Rollin movie. But when what makes these things good to begin with is the sex and nudity, more is always better, so I'd like to know about the longer cut. In the version I watched, it felt like the first time Sadie and Francesca get it on, it cut to morning just as they were really getting started.

I watched the 84 minute cut - I didn’t like the film enough to seek out the German Blu-ray but I would also be interested to know what those additional 11 minutes contain.

I got the German BD and the run length is 1:24:18

Had the German blu-ray. Good-looking movie but just falls flat after the 40 minute mark.
