USA In the Heat of the Night (TV series)

Have got TGG Direct's DVD release of the first season of In the Heat of the Night, along with the 'eighth season' set (which is actually the four post-series TV films). Does anyone here have any of the season sets inbetween? I say "season sets", but some episodes were not included.

Having seen a one-off screening of In the Heat of the Night at the local cinema this week (first time I'd seen it in full), it's reinvigorated my interest in the much later long-running TV series. Is there much chance of say a German boutique label licensing the series in full (ie. including the episodes which were missing from the North American releases due to clearance issues (I suspect it was because of heavy music clearance issues)?

I also have the complete S1 & S8 and decided to skip the other releases and insead burned S2-S7 off WGN America without any missing episodes and all in order which will have to do until we can get either a complete uncut series release or uncut individuals of S2-7

The label TGG Direct, have they closed down or they still in business (apologies if I have the wording wrong)? Would things have been different if Shout! Factory had licensed In the Heat of the Night from MGM? They usually don't have any problems with series which have a lot of music in them.

I'm hoping a UK TV channel acquires the complete series for a repeat run, but if Forces TV showed it, they'd squash up and talk over the end credits.

Just out of interest, did WGN America show all of the series with the original closing logo(s)?

I first recorded the series Seasons 2-7 to my DVR and then transferred them to DVD-R and edited out all the commercials but no the WGN episodes had very brief opening and closing credits unfortunately.

I love to see this show get released on Blu, I have a few of the seasons on the TGG DVDs, a lot of which are quite poor visually, and some are sold on glitchy DVD-Rs. Luckily in the US the show has been quite easy to stream, including the rare episodes that haven’t been on DVD. My wife and I streamed every episode and all of the later TV movies a couple of years ago. Great stuff!

Currently, who has the rights to the TV series In the Heat of the Night? I've been thinking recently about the music clearance issues for the episodes which were omitted from TGG Direct's season DVD sets. Ideally, a Blu-ray release of all eight seasons (the eighth season comprised of the TV films) with all or as much of the original music as possible included.

It's on Tubi and Freevee for free in HD.

Have heard of both Tubi and Freevee. Assuming they're streaming platforms, I would prefer a physical media Blu-ray release of the In the Heat of the Night TV series. I occasionly use streaming, but prefer physical media.

And I wish Power Rangers series was bluray, but it won't ever happen. Unless you're on Instagram or Youtube showcasing your cinema room and have 100000 subscribers, I doubt anyone cares if you have the dvd or bluray. Nobody cares.
